The Director of Business Development, Americas will lead expansion of Travelport’s footprint in the Americas region by driving new business growth and strengthening agency relationships across the US, Canada, and Latin America. You will own strategy, execution, and leadership for a small team of business development managers responsible for driving top-line growth aligned with company objectives. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring expertise in complex, consultative sales cycles and collaboration across a global matrixed organization. This role is remote in the US, reporting directly to the VP of Sales, Americas.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in complex, consultative sales leadership with proven ability to grow revenue and drive results.
  • 5+ years leading a team of business development managers and influencing across a matrixed organization.
  • 2+ years in solution selling within a fast-paced tech or travel industry.
  • Skilled in coaching, performance management, and issue resolution.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; ability to inspire at all levels.
  • Deep market expertise with the ability to analyze product-market fit and guide strategic prospecting: Demonstrated commercial acumen and rigor, mastery of CRM best practices.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, resourceful, creative problem-solver with a flexible, change-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to travel 50%

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and market share targets.
  • Lead all phases of the sales cycle—from prospecting through contract execution and post-sale engagement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with C-suite executives in key prospects and strategic ecosystem partners.
  • Ensure rigorous CRM discipline - maintain timely, accurate updates on accounts, opportunities, and activities; track all sales cycle phases; monitor pipeline health; and deliver reliable forecasts.
  • Use CRM insights to drive accountability, align team efforts, identify gaps, and inform strategic decisions.
  • Inspire a high-performance, collaborative sales culture focused on ownership and accountability.
  • Oversee team planning, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
  • Represent Travelport at key industry events as speaker or panelist.
