About The Position

The Director of National Accounts (NAM) is responsible for the direct selling and retention of current accounts through quoting, regular visit to facilities, pricing/contract negotiations, scrap, technical services team coordination and corporate relationship maintenance. This position is responsible for the acquisition and direct selling of new substantial national accounts through directed personal solicitation, marketing efforts, industry contacts, agent referrals, prospect RFQ request, contract negotiations, added value/manage services program selling and team selling approach. The Director of National Accounts will manage the acquisition and maintenance of Lift Truck OEM Nat. Accts. through the OEM National Accounts team. This position will set goals and assign customers to prospect NAM’s and Technical Service Representatives, create an account strategy and tactical supervision with NAM’s.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in Industrial sales environment
  • 5+ years’ experience in Industrial Battery sales or material handling markets
  • 4- year Marketing or business related degree
  • Safety and Environmental training
  • Managerial experience
  • Strong knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience using an ERP System

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for working closely with crown Battery customer service and other office administration on orders, credit, and accounting to keep all channels of communication well maintained.
  • Understand individual roles and responsibilities of all departments within the company to develop a strong working relationship in order to provide a higher level of communication and working relationship for customer service.
  • Monitor A/R past due accounts and initiate payments.
  • Establish lists of National Accounts that would be potential prospects.
  • Solicit prospects and prose long-term relationships based upon customer requirements.
  • Manage new and existing accounts.
  • Evaluate and recommend management of support accessories and disposition of obsolete products or scrap.
  • Propose product and program changes that meet customer requirements and keep up with competitors.
  • Assist with and attend various trade shows. Keep up with current industry related information, particularly battery technology.
  • Develop sales campaigns to meet company goals for National Accounts.
  • Help develop and train all other sales personnel.
  • Assist in the development of new customers for your division.
  • Make recommendations to improve overall sales and company operations.
  • Be familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures, and documentation of the Crown Quality System and how it relates to this position and Crown quality objectives.
