Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience as a Marketing and Communications professional
  • Excellent communication skills and an impeccable eye for detail
  • Strong ability to think strategically, implement creative concepts and methods within the corporate framework
  • Project management skills, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and reliability
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, when required, and work productively in high pressure situations
  • 30% travel both domestic & international (primarily between USA, Canada, Panama, and Austria)

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the media landscape, with a specific emphasis on construction industry outlets, is regarded as an asset
  • Proficiency in French (Canada) and / or Spanish (Latin America) preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive the regional marketing strategy and annual marketing plan aligned with corporate objectives, ensuring clear priorities, targeted measures, and measurable impact across North America and Latin America.
  • Lead the gathering, analysis, and use of market intelligence, including macro-economic trends, competitor activities, customer insights, and campaign performance, to enable data-driven decision-making and continuous strategy optimization.
  • Lead digital marketing activities for the region, including the Doka website, email marketing, social media channels, and the Go2Market planning calendar and platform. Drive analytics monitoring and reporting to support data-driven marketing and communication campaigns.
  • Manage corporate photography and project marketing assets to support brand consistency and storytelling. Oversee branded gear and special requests, including approval processes and brand compliance.
  • Manage and support national and/or regional customer events, including customer visits, trade shows, and experiential marketing activities, in alignment with broader marketing and communications objectives.
  • Execute strategic earned media campaigns to strengthen the company’s brand image and reputation across North America and Latin America (approx. 70% USA, 20% Canada, 10% Latin America), aligned with marketing initiatives where applicable.
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage and industry trends to identify opportunities and potential risks, informing proactive communication strategies.
  • Create and distribute press materials and other communication materials to effectively convey key messages.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with journalists and media outlets to secure positive coverage and build long-term media partnerships.
  • Plan and direct media events in conjunction with major trade shows and industry events.
  • Provide coaching and support to executive team members for major internal and external speaking engagements.
  • Serve as a trusted thought partner and sounding board for country-level and area-level leadership on change management and strategic communication topics.
  • Maintain and enforce public relations guidelines to ensure consistent messaging and brand voice.
  • Lead internal and external crisis communication planning, ensure timely, accurate, and effective messaging during challenging situations in close collaboration with headquarters and/or general counsel.
  • Develop and manage internal communication channels to increase team member engagement and support Area leadership objectives.
  • Proactively source, develop, and publish content for Doka’s internal communication platform (we2gether) to keep employees informed of organizational activities and priorities.
  • Establish and manage a calendar of key internal meetings, directing content development for all-team Town Halls, Annual Meetings, and other major internal events.
  • Serve on the Umdasch Group Editorial Board. Maintain strong relationships and regular exchanges with global communications partners at Austrian headquarters to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing.
