About The Position

Lead pipeline development and relationship cultivation in support of the company’s corporate acquisition strategy. The role is responsible for generating, qualifying, and advancing acquisition opportunities across target markets while building and managing a disciplined sourcing system for the M&A function. Reports to Vice President of M&A. Individual contributor role; leads origination efforts and coordinates cross-functional senior stakeholders.

Requirements

  • MBA or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, corporate development, family office investing, or related fields.
  • Candidates with blended experience across industry, strategy, commercial, or finance roles will also be considered.
  • Strong interpersonal credibility with business owners and professional advisors.
  • Financial literacy and ability to evaluate business opportunities at an initial screening level.
  • High degree of initiative, organization, and follow-through in managing long-cycle relationships.

  • Preferred locations include Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Lafayette, Houma, or Houston with regular travel expected.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a structured acquisition pipeline aligned with the company’s investment thesis and geographic priorities.
  • Identify and cultivate proprietary acquisition opportunities as primary sourcing target through direct outreach to business owners and by cultivating long-term industry relationships.
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for prospective sellers and advisors, representing the company credibly and professionally in early-stage discussions.
  • Build and maintain relationships for secondary sourcing targets through investment bankers, brokers, attorneys, accountants, and other intermediaries who can originate transaction opportunities.
  • Conduct preliminary screening and first-level financial analysis of opportunities prior to internal review.
  • Maintain a disciplined CRM and pipeline tracking system, including weekly reporting on opportunity flow and relationship activity.
  • Leverage modern technology and AI tools to conduct market research, identify targets, and support sourcing efforts.
  • Develop targeted outreach strategies including digital, social media, and traditional relationship-based marketing.
  • Coordinate internal participation in business development activities across leadership and subject matter experts.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and regional business events to expand acquisition relationships.
