About The Position

The Four Seasons Resort Hualālai is seeking a Director of Landscaping to lead the care, preservation, and evolution of our resort’s extensive grounds. This role is responsible for overseeing landscape operations across the property, ensuring the resort’s natural beauty reflects both the Four Seasons standard of excellence and the unique environment of Hawaiʻi Island. The Director of Landscaping plays a critical leadership role in stewarding the land, leading teams, and partnering cross-functionally to deliver an exceptional guest and employee experience rooted in respect, sustainability, and the spirit of Hawaiʻi hospitality.

Requirements

  • Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in the United States
  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in landscaping, grounds management, or a related field, preferably in a luxury resort or hospitality environment
  • Demonstrated experience leading large, diverse teams in a complex operational setting
  • Strong knowledge of tropical landscaping, irrigation systems, and sustainable land management practices
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, labor, and long-term planning initiatives
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as required by business needs

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Hawaiʻi Island’s climate, native plant life, and environmental considerations strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for all landscaping and grounds operations across the resort
  • Oversee the care, maintenance, and long-term planning of landscaped areas, native plants, irrigation systems, and outdoor environments
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a large team of landscaping professionals, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and pride in craftsmanship
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Recreation, Housekeeping, Sustainability, and other resort leaders to support guest experiences, events, and capital projects
  • Manage departmental budgets, labor planning, and resource allocation to meet operational and financial goals
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, safety standards, and Four Seasons policies
  • Support sustainability initiatives, native planting practices, and environmentally responsible land stewardship
  • Serve as a visible leader on property, ensuring grounds consistently meet Four Seasons brand standards and reflect the beauty of Hawaiʻi Island
