About The Position

The Director of Infrastructure & Operations is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategy, design, implementation, and ongoing management of the organization's IT infrastructure and operational services. This includes ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of IT systems, networks, and applications to meet business needs. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to align technology services with business objectives, optimize resources, and deliver exceptional user experiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCNA, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or similar are a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure and operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong technical expertise in areas such as cloud computing, networking, systems architecture, and IT service management.
  • Proven experience leading complex IT projects and managing multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strategic thinking with a focus on delivering business value.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on innovation and efficiency.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • On-call availability for critical system issues or outages.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Leadership:
  • Develop and execute the IT infrastructure and operations strategy, aligning it with the organization's goals.
  • Provide leadership and direction to infrastructure, operations, and support teams, ensuring high levels of engagement and performance.
  • Stay informed of emerging technologies and trends, making recommendations to drive innovation and efficiency.
  • Infrastructure Management
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including data centers, cloud environments, servers, storage, and networks.
  • Oversee the architecture and implementation of modern data management infrastructure, including Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks lake house environments.
  • Ensure the scalability, resilience, and security of IT systems to support business growth and continuity.
  • Monitor system performance and implement improvements to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Ensure infrastructure and systems management practices are in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX Compliance) and Payment Card Industry (PCI) regulations.
  • Operations & Service Delivery
  • Manage IT service delivery, ensuring systems are operational and meeting defined service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Oversee key cloud migration initiatives, ensuring projects stay on budget and on planned timelines.
  • Establish and oversee IT service management practices, such as incident management, problem management, and change management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for operational processes and service delivery.
  • Security & Compliance
  • Oversee the security team to implement and maintain robust cybersecurity practices across the IT environment.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and organizational policies.
  • Budgeting & Resource Management
  • Develop and manage budgets for infrastructure and operations, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.
  • Lead vendor negotiations and manage vendor relationships to ensure optimal performance and value.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize technology investments and reduce operational costs.
  • Team Development & Collaboration
  • Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing team of IT and Data Management professionals.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation within the Technology department and across the organization.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand and anticipate technology needs.
  • Maintain flexibility in work schedule to meet business needs, including an in-office and from home hybrid work environment.
  • Actively and positively contribute to the overall success of the company and team through regular contributions to the general management of the company.
  • Support the company and other departments wherever and whenever your skills and experience would be beneficial.
