About The Position

Our client in Baton Rouge is seeking a Director of Information Technology. The ideal candidate will be non-technical, relationship-driven professional to serve as a strategic partner between physicians, clinical leaders, and the Information Systems (IS) department. While the IS organization is staffed with technically skilled managers and technicians, this role is focused on managing relationships, understanding healthcare operations, and delivering an exceptional service experience. This individual will be responsible for providing a “Disney-level” customer experience—someone who instills complete confidence in physicians and clinical stakeholders, making technology feel seamless, reliable, and effortless. The ideal candidate can translate clinical workflows, interpret and leverage data, and help accelerate healthcare services by removing obstacles and driving progress across the organization. Target Candidates/Top Skills: - Targeting clinical/healthcare experience - Bachelors degree and 5 years of IS leadership experience. If they don’t have a Bachelors degree, they would need 8-10 years of IS Leadership experience. - They will consider a Director from a smaller healthcare facility looking to make a jump to an enterprise environment. - They will consider a Manager from another enterprise environment looking to make a jump to a Director level role. - Also will consider a Director from Operations looking to make a move into IS. Current/future initiatives – - The hospital is the market where IS initiatives are tested before scaling out to other facilities. This person will help ensure initiatives are scalable & cost effective and will have to communicate this out and get feedback. They are currently testing out rooms of the future, uplifting conference rooms across markets, going through an ED re-model that will have all new technology, they are starting to replace all wall mounted PCs with wall arms, there is a patient monitoring project kicking off in next 12-18 months, 2 community connect projects kicking off this year, and there are initiatives around AI – how they can do more with less.

Requirements

  • Targeting clinical/healthcare experience
  • Bachelors degree and 5 years of IS leadership experience. If they don’t have a Bachelors degree, they would need 8-10 years of IS Leadership experience.

Responsibilities

  • Directs, oversees, and evaluates facility systems and user needs.
  • Maintains an understanding of the needs and changing priorities of the organization and focuses on solutions to address customer issues and informational needs.
  • Provides confidential and professional guidance to the organization by analyzing and interpreting information toward ensuring prudent and efficient facility management.
  • Develops and maintains accurate records for use in evaluating organizational performance.
  • Identifies ways of improving current services and consults with management on issues and problems.
  • Provides guidance and support to staff members and facilitates effective problem-solving among employees.
  • Reviews staff performance, identifies performance deficits, and implements prudent recommendations that promote staff efficiency.
  • Provides the team with direction and vision and fosters teamwork to create a work culture that values and encourages collaboration.
  • Promotes and encourages the growth and development of staff members.
  • Estimates future departmental personnel, equipment, and supply needs in order to ensure the attainment of operating goals.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements the annual capital equipment, personnel, and operating budget for the department.
  • Conducts periodic reviews of departmental performance, analyzes budget variances, and implements responsive action.
