About The Position

The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking a Director of Information & Technology to provide strategic leadership, supervision, and project oversight for Advancement information systems, data platforms, and technology operations. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Advancement Services, this role ensures that all Advancement technology initiatives align with institutional priorities, compliance requirements, and enterprise IT standards. The Director oversees a team of technical professionals responsible for systems administration, data integrations, reporting, and analytics, while serving as a senior advisor to Advancement leadership on technology strategy and risk management. This position leads project planning, prioritization, and vendor coordination for system enhancements and integrations across fundraising, finance, alumni, and engagement platforms. While not responsible for hands-on development or system administration, the Director must possess strong technical acumen to evaluate solutions, guide staff, and help resolve complex, cross-system challenges. Additionally, the Director serves as the primary liaison between Advancement and Campus IT, fostering effective collaboration and ensuring shared accountability across teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience OR Master’s Degree and three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience in information technology, data systems, or enterprise applications
  • Oversight of complex systems environments involving databases, integrations, reporting, and vendor-managed platforms
  • Experience coordinating IT projects, system implementations, or cross-functional initiatives
