About The Position

Director of Information Technology Build. Lead. Transform. We’re looking for a forward-thinking, hands-on Director of Information Technology to lead and elevate our entire technology ecosystem. This isn’t just about keeping the lights on—this is about building a modern, secure, and scalable tech environment that powers real business growth. You’ll be the go-to leader for everything IT—owning strategy, driving execution, and partnering closely with leadership to turn business goals into smart, efficient technology solutions. NearU is a people-centric, process-driven, and technology-enabled customer service platform dedicated to revolutionizing the home services industry by vastly improving the customer and employee experience. The Benefits Manager will lead the administration and optimization of our employee benefits, wellness and leave programs. This role is critical in ensuring our benefits offerings are competitive, compliant and aligned with our strategic goals and employees wellbeing across multiple states within the NearU footprint. This role is four days on-site at our Charlotte Branch Service Center office. Located at 2550 West Tyvola Road Charlotte, NC.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of IT leadership experience
  • Proven success managing IT operations, infrastructure, and vendors
  • Strong expertise in cloud environments and identity management
  • Experience with compliance frameworks (HIPAA preferred)
  • A natural communicator who can influence at all levels
  • A builder mindset—you don’t just maintain, you improve

Responsibilities

  • IT Operations & Service Excellence
  • Lead day-to-day IT operations across internal teams and managed service providers
  • Ensure systems are fast, reliable, and always available when the business needs them
  • Jump in as the escalation point for critical issues and keep things moving
  • Vendor & MSP Partnerships
  • Build strong, accountable partnerships with IT vendors and MSPs
  • Set clear expectations through SLAs—and hold partners to them
  • Continuously evaluate performance, cost, and value
  • Security & Compliance
  • Champion a strong, proactive security posture across the organization
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (HIPAA experience a plus)
  • Lead audits, risk assessments, and continuous improvements
  • Infrastructure & Systems Leadership
  • Oversee cloud platforms, identity management, and core business systems
  • Guide smart architectural decisions that scale with the business
  • Drive consistency, efficiency, and future-ready solutions
