About The Position

Centurion is proud to be the provider of comprehensive services to the Illinois Department of Corrections. We are currently seeking a Full-time Director of Infection Control (Registered Nurse) to join our Regional Office team in Springfield, Illinois. This is a remote/traveling position. Candidates must reside in Illinois and live a commutable distance to our regional office for meetings and sites. Weekly travel will vary week by week -- 1x/week up to 5x/week, as needed. The Infection Control Director (Registered Nurse) oversees the operations of the infection prevention, epidemiology and relevant safety of incarcerated individuals in a correctional setting. This person identifies as promptly as possible patients and staff who have acquired infection and maintain a register of all notified infections. They coordinate and implement our Infection Control Program. This person ensures compliance with isolation techniques and procedures to provide optimum care for patients.

Requirements

APIC Certification; certification in Infection Control preferred
1-3 years’ experience providing nursing care in a public health environment or acute care setting with a focus on infection prevention and control
Clear/Active Illinois Registered Nurse license
Experience working with a high degree of autonomy required
Must have the ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally with staff and institutional administration
Computer skills required include Microsoft Office
Corrections experience preferred
Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/ BLS
Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
