The Regional Infection Prevention Director under the direction of the Enterprise VP of Infection Prevention is responsible for directing and coordinating the overall infection prevention program for a regional division of Jefferson Health. The Regional Director will ensure that the daily operations of their regional hospitals comply with regulations as provided by county or state agencies, all accreditation bodies, national Infection prevention standards, and aligns with the enterprise infection prevention program goals. Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. Collaborates and coordinates with the Enterprise VP of infection prevention to ensure the enterprise infection prevention programs and initiatives are integrated into the local hospitals. Partners with local and regional Leadership, in alignment with enterprise leadership , to identify, clarify and communicate a shared vision and related core strategies to prioritize goals. Collaborates with the regional hospital’s Infection Control Officer /Chairman of the Infection Prevention and Control Committee to determine infection prevention/epidemiology program objectives and methodology including the periodic review, and revision of the infection prevention and control plan and identification of specific goals and objectives to achieve continuous improvements in effectiveness. Directs the activities of the Infection Preventionists (and any other staff within the department) including recruitment of new staff as needed, evaluation of performance and disciplinary action when necessary, and oversight of programs for staff development and retention. Provides operational leadership for the departments which includes directing policy/procedure, budget coordination, meeting performance assessment standards and human resource functions to ensure guidance, support and quality of services of the Regional hospitals’ Infection Prevention and Control Department Leads all aspects of outbreak investigation, evidence-based practice implementation, cleaning, disinfection and sterilization methods, products, and design and planning for the built environment across the system Serves on leadership committees/meetings to act as a liaison for infection prevention and control related information to facilitate communication, make recommendations, and provide guidance to the Infection Prevention and Control Committees. Coordinates mandatory reporting of hospital-associated infections to state and federal agencies and ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies (CMS, TJC, and DOH). Performs other duties as assigned.
