About The Position

At Resmed, we're on a mission to change lives with every breath - and our global supply chain is the engine that makes it possible. As we continue scaling our manufacturing and distribution network, we are redefining how we operate - across our factories, automation cells, and distribution centers. We're seeking a Director of Industrial Engineering, based in either Singapore or Los Angeles to lead this transformation. This role leads Industrial Engineering globally, focusing on optimizing process flow, equipment utilization, and facility performance using proven industrial engineering methods and digital tools. The Opportunity The Director of Industrial Engineering will develop and lead a connected, high-performing industrial engineering team and ecosystem that develops and deploys standards, tools, and best practices that improve throughput, capacity utilization, and material flow across manufacturing and distribution operations. The role drives analysis-based decision-making to eliminate bottlenecks, reduce waste, and maximize asset performance. While this role is deeply rooted in industrial engineering in a manufacturing environment, exposure to distribution center operations and supply chain flow is a valuable complement.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Industrial Engineering within high-volume manufacturing environment essential; 5+ years in leadership roles. Experience in distribution or logistics engineering is preferred but not required.
  • Deep experience in OEE improvement, process flow optimization, and capacity modeling.
  • Deep technical knowledge of industrial engineering principles, including Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, value-stream mapping, and simulation.
  • Familiarity with automation and material handling technologies (AGVs, conveyors, AMRs, AS/RS).
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field; MBA or Six Sigma Black Belt preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in distribution or logistics engineering is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) frameworks or reliability engineering is highly beneficial.
  • MBA or Six Sigma Black Belt preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead the global Industrial Engineering function and set direction for process design, capacity analysis, and material flow optimization.
  • Develop standardized methods for line balancing, time and motion studies, and capacity modeling across all factories and distribution centers.
  • Partner with site and regional teams to identify productivity opportunities through bottleneck analysis, layout redesign, and process improvement.
  • Embed Industrial Engineering standards into capital planning and site design to ensure scalable, efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Planning and Network Strategy teams as required to support global network analysis, scenario modelling, and footprint decisions, applying IE tools to evaluate flow, capacity, and asset performance across both manufacturing and distribution nodes.
  • Apply Industrial Engineering best practices (value stream mapping, line balancing, constraint analysis) to increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and asset utilization.
  • Conduct time studies, process mapping, and capacity modeling to identify constraints in equipment, labor, and facility flow.
  • Drive initiatives to reduce downtime, increase throughput, and improve first-pass yield.
  • Partner with operations to establish KPIs and dashboards for capacity, OEE, and productivity.
  • Identify automation and robotics opportunities and define engineering requirements for business cases and vendor selection.
  • Partner with Automation and Manufacturing Engineering teams to ensure automation systems integrate seamlessly into existing production and warehouse processes.
  • Support evaluation of AGVs, AMRs, conveyors, AS/RS, and robotic solutions to optimize flow and reduce manual handling.
  • Expand use of simulation, digital twins, and statistical analysis to evaluate process improvements and capacity expansion options.
  • Use standard metrics - cycle time, takt time, throughput rate, equipment uptime, and resource utilization - to drive performance visibility.
  • Deliver concise, data-driven reports to support investment decisions and continuous improvement programs.
  • Apply the same modelling and optimisation tools to distribution environments where applicable, enabling consistency across the broader supply chain.
  • Lead large-scale transformation programs that redesign manufacturing and warehouse layouts to enable volume growth and automation readiness.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across Supply chain, with Manufacturing Operations, PMO, Supply, Logistics, Distribution, Digital, Finance and Quality to deliver measurable operational improvements.
  • Partner to introduce performance dashboards for flow efficiency, throughput, and capacity health across all facilities.
  • Serve as a change agent, embedding continuous improvement and lean thinking into all aspects of the operation.
  • Build and lead a global Industrial Engineering community of practice focused on Lean, OEE, and data-based problem solving.
  • Coach site Industrial Engineers (direct or dotted-line) to apply standardized methods and tools.
  • Develop internal capability through training on IE fundamentals, simulation tools, and productivity systems.
  • Develop career pathways and learning programs that grow internal capability in industrial engineering, intralogistics simulation modeling, and automation integration.
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, accountability, and cross-functional innovation.
  • Partner with site leaders to ensure alignment between global design standards and local implementation.

Benefits

  • comprehensive medical, vision, dental, and life, AD&D, short-term and long-term disability insurance, sleep care management, Health Savings Account (HSA), Flexible Spending Account (FSA), commuter benefits, 401(k), Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and tuition assistance.
  • Employees accrue fifteen days Paid Time Off (PTO) in their first year of employment, receive 11 paid holidays plus 3 floating days and are eligible for 14 weeks of primary caregiver or two weeks of secondary caregiver leave when welcoming new family members.
