About The Position

Assist operations in achieving their goals through effective strategies in recruiting, training, performance management, employee relations, and reward and recognition. Ensure that Jimbo’s is functioning within the parameters set by Federal and State law, our policies, procedures, and our Mission Statement. Handle communication of confidentiality appropriately. Achieve these goals through, effective utilization, coordination, supervision and mentoring of the Human Resources staff.

Requirements

  • Must have 3 years of exempt level HR experience preferably in a generalist function.
  • Very strong communication, organization, listening, and customer/staff member service skills.
  • Excellent human relation skills including approachability, patience, neutrality, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills with the ability to constructively address performance issues.
  • Strong facilitation and mediation skills.
  • Ability to travel between stores, in office.
  • Intermediate math skills.
  • Must be computer literate with experience in Windows, Outlook Express, Word and Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • HRIS experience with Paycom is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Capable of filling-in and performing the duties of the Human Resource Development/Recruiting Manager or Coordinator
  • Hire, train, manage, and evaluate the performance of HR staff members.
  • Coach and mentor, the Human Resources staff to increase their effectiveness and understanding of the HR function.
  • Oversee all aspects of the HR Function for staff members, management, and leadership team members (recruiting, training, performance evaluation, employee relations, safety, work comp, discipline, terminations, unemployment, and employment verification)
  • Act as a strategic partner with the members of the operations team.
  • Assist with succession planning and develop associated training programs.
  • Oversee trainings for supervisors and managers and provide coaching to help them improve in their management abilities.
  • Oversee orientations and trainings for all non-exempt staff members.
  • Oversee all harassment and discrimination claims for staff members and handle similar claims for management staff.
  • Oversee the development and administration of employee reward and recognition programs.
  • Oversee and play a leadership role in our safety program (OSHA compliance, inspections, safety meetings, logs, trainings, etc).
  • Oversee recruiting advertising for company and communicating website changes to marketing
  • Handle all general liability claims for the company.
  • Oversee all work comp claims for the company.
  • As needed, proactively assist customers within the guidelines outlined in our Customer Service Standards.
  • Ensure the handling and communication of confidentiality is appropriately upheld by HR staff members.
  • Oversee the handling of unemployment and workers’ compensation claims.
  • Serve as company counsel on matters of labor laws and human rights legislation and compliance.
  • Ensure company is in compliance with Federal and State employment law.
  • Promote a positive atmosphere for shopping and working.
  • Assist with annual and special projects assigned by Director of Administration, Director of Operations and/or Company President.
