StaffBuffalo is excited to partner with a respected and mission-driven healthcare organization in Buffalo, NY, to hire a Director of Human Resources. This is a full-time, on-site leadership opportunity offering $100,000–$110,000 annually, with excellent benefits and generous PTO. As the Director of HR, you’ll report directly to the VP of Human Resources and lead a team of HR specialists. You’ll have the opportunity to shape HR strategy, coach leaders, manage employee relations across the organization, and support the development of 400+ employees. This is a highly visible role on the senior management team, perfect for a professional who is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves on day-to-day issues and driving big-picture initiatives. This is an on-site, full-time position based in Buffalo, NY.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required
  • 5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience; prior Director-level experience strongly preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices
  • Strong background in employee relations, performance management, and leave administration
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Demonstrated ability to live and lead by organizational values: kindness, resilience, teamwork, and fairness

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare or mission-driven organizations is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the HR team, ensuring effective delivery of HR services across all locations
  • Partner with senior leadership to design and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals
  • Oversee employee relations, coaching managers on everything from attendance challenges to performance concerns
  • Manage and improve the performance evaluation and feedback process
  • Administer and oversee leave management programs
  • Develop and deliver supervisor and leadership training, including quarterly new-manager cohorts
  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to align recruitment strategies with organizational growth
  • Support wellness initiatives, workforce development, and engagement programming
  • Serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to leadership, driving organizational culture and values
