About The Position

The Executive Director of Human Resources provides strategic leadership and oversight for all district human resources functions. This role supports the Superintendent and district leadership team in personnel management, employee relations, compliance, staffing, licensure, compensation, and human capital systems. The Executive Director ensures that HR practices align with district goals, legal requirements, and best practices in public education.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience in human resources strongly preferred
  • Experience in K-12 public education preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Indiana administrator license preferred
  • IASBO certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and supervision for the district's Human Resources Department and assigned Administration Center support staff
  • Supervise, evaluate, and support HR staff to ensure effective service delivery and continuous improvement
  • Serve as a key advisor to the Superintendent and district leadership on human resources matters
  • Assist with employee relations matters, including discipline, contract non-renewals, reductions in force, and other staffing decisions
  • Support building and district administrators in the consistent application of district policies and employment practices
  • Lead districtwide recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and teacher induction initiatives
  • Administer and manage performance-based salary programs
  • Oversee teacher effectiveness and evaluation systems, including Standards for Success
  • Oversee the management, selection, and implementation of the district's health insurance plan and associated staff benefits
  • Organize and lead the district Health Insurance Committee
  • Manage the district's health insurance and benefits programs in collaboration with district leadership and committees
  • Serve as the district Licensing Advisor for K-12 teachers and ensure compliance with state licensure requirements
  • Oversee and manage district HR systems, including Frontline Central and related platforms
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and contractual obligations
  • Prepare materials, reports, and presentations for the Board of School Trustees as needed
  • Serve on district committees, including Negotiations, Health Insurance, School Safety, and other committees as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent
