About The Position

Transdev is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to support our rapidly evolving Transit Operations division. As Transdev continues to expand service across multiple markets nationwide, this role will be responsible for assigned regions, playing a critical part in building the HR infrastructure, workforce strategy, and leadership capability needed to sustain operational excellence. This is a highly visible role ideal for an HR leader who thrives in fast‑paced, multi‑site environments and is motivated by the opportunity to impact both frontline and leadership talent across a broad regional footprint. This position covers the Southern California region, and candidates must reside in either the San Diego or Irvine, CA area to be considered. Transdev Offers: Competitive compensation package: $115,000 – $150,000 15% bonus eligibility Vacation: Minimum 2 weeks Sick Days: 5 days Holidays: 12 days (8 standard + 4 floating) Benefits: 401(k), medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, voluntary long‑term disability Benefits may vary depending on location policy; the above represents standard Corporate Policy.

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of progressive HR leadership experience supporting multi‑site, frontline workforce environments.
  • Demonstrated success driving HR strategies in large, distributed, high‑volume operations.
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, compliance, and judgment in complex HR matters.
  • High comfort level operating in ambiguous, fast‑changing environments.
  • Willingness to travel 60–70% across your assigned regions.
  • Be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future (if based in the U.S.).
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.

  • Experience in transit, mobility, transportation, services, or other safety‑sensitive operational environments.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with executive and operations leaders to support rapid market expansion across multiple transit locations.
  • Drive high‑volume recruiting, onboarding, and workforce readiness across distributed sites.
  • Strengthen employee relations practices in a safety‑sensitive, heavily regulated environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining operational flexibility.
  • Support leadership development, bench strength, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Champion a safety‑first, performance‑driven culture during periods of change and expansion.
