About The Position

Partners Capital is seeking a Senior Principal level, Director of Human Capital Operations to join our Boston-based People Team in a highly strategic and operational leadership capacity. This individual will serve as the go-to partner to the Managing Director and Head of People, North America and operate as a cross functional Human Capital (HC) leader — ensuring an effective day-to-day Human Capital operation while strengthening the infrastructure, driving scalability, and furthering the operational excellence of the broader People Team. This is a high-impact role that combines HC Business Partnership, People Operations leadership, program and process design, and technology enablement. The successful candidate will bring both breadth across HC disciplines and depth in operational leadership, helping to build, scale and prepare the function for continued global growth. As a fast-growing, 400+ person firm (with 190+ employees across North America and four NA offices: Boston HQ, Dallas, New York, and San Francisco), we are seeking a seasoned Human Capital leader who operates independently, exercises strong judgment, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive Human Capital experience across multiple disciplines
  • People management experience
  • Deep knowledge of HC best practices including employee relations, employment law, total rewards, talent acquisition, talent management, performance development, workforce planning, policy management, data analytics, and operations
  • Demonstrated experience significantly elevating talent operations in a high-performance environment
  • Strong understanding of workforce planning and experience embedding data-driven hiring practices and recruitment analytics
  • Demonstrated experience building or scaling People infrastructure and operational capability
  • Strong operational mindset with the ability to bring order, clarity, and structure to complexity
  • High business acumen and understanding of organizational strategy
  • Comfortable operating as both strategic advisor and hands-on executor
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced and “results-focused” environment, with strong attention to detail and a commercial approach.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented, with demonstrated ability to lead and execute projects with strong project management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organization, prioritization, and written/verbal communication skills
  • Familiar with state-specific labor laws and requirements for the states where PCIG offices are based
  • Proficient in managing and resolving conflict in a constructive manner across levels. High degree of professionalism and sound judgement with understanding of when and how to escalate issues.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure an effective, high-performing day-to-day People operation
  • Serve as Chief of Staff to the Head of People, North America, providing structure, prioritization, and operational discipline
  • In partnership with the Head of People and Talent lead, strengthen Talent verticals (talent management and talent acquisition) by operationally structuring programs, projects, and scalable processes
  • Aid in the design, development, and implementation of infrastructure and systems that enable growth
  • Act as a strategic Human Capital Business Partner to our North American business
  • Responsible for ensuring all information security processes, policies and procedures are adhered to and any issues or concerns are raised with the Cyber Security team
  • Serve as thought partner and execution arm for the Head of People, North America
  • Lead operational execution, planning, and prioritization across the People function
  • Provide project management rigor and structure to People Team initiatives
  • Provide budget oversight, workforce planning, and resource allocation in support of business objectives
  • Operate as the functional lead for People Operations, ensuring consistency and excellence
  • Act as a manager and mentor for People Operations team member(s)
  • Lead HC operations including payroll, benefits administration, immigration, employee lifecycle management, vendor management, and compliance
  • Evolve HC technology (HRIS and related systems) to drive efficiency and scale
  • In support of the HC function, design, implement, own, and operate processes that create clarity, consistency, and operational rigor
  • Build scalable infrastructure to support firm growth
  • Centralize and manage HC reporting, dashboards, and analytics (people and recruitment); leverage data to uncover trends and drive informed decision-making
  • Optimize ATS utilization and reporting to enable informed decision-making
  • Support special projects in partnership with relevant team members which may include selection and implementation of a new global performance development system
  • Manage total rewards programming including compensation, benefits, and recognition
  • Support and manage annual compensation cycle and associated processes, year-round analysis, reporting, record-keeping, and communications
  • Ensure programs are competitive, compliant, and aligned with performance and firm objectives
  • Manage benefits by acting as the knowledge center and execution arm (H&W, Retirement, and other)
  • Function as a People Business Partner across North America
  • Advise leaders and managers on employee relations, employment law, policy interpretation, performance management, and risk mitigation
  • Support policy development and refinement to ensure alignment with organizational needs and best practices
  • Act as coach, advisor, and confidant to leaders, managers, and employees throughout the employee lifecycle
  • Align HC practices with business goals to enable performance and engagement
  • Partner with Head of People and Talent Lead (talent management and talent acquisition) to structure and operationalize programs and initiatives
  • At the direction of the Head of People, lead cross-functional projects with a disciplined, results-oriented approach
  • Identify opportunities to refine People processes, enhance employee experience, and strengthen operational capability
  • Support the Head of People on strategic initiatives across North America and, as needed, globally
