About The Position
Iroquois Memorial Hospital and Resident Home is looking for its next leader of the Health Information Management department. What does it mean to be a leader at IMH? The HIM Director provides strategic and operational leadership for the hospital's health information systems, medical records, data governance, and information compliance. This role ensures the integrity, confidentiality, accessibility, and lawful use of patient health information while supporting clinical care, organizational performance, and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Health Information Management, or Health Informatics required
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- Demonstrated experience in a hospital or health system environment
- Proven leadership experience managing teams, budgets and systems
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Coding experience/background a plus
Responsibilities
- Oversee medical records management, clinical coding, release of information, and documentation standards
- Ensure timely, accurate, and complete health records across all care settings
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and professional guidelines
- Lead, mentor, and develop HIM team
- Foster an environments of continuous improvement and professional excellence
