About The Position

The Director of HTP (Hard to Place) and SILP (Supervised Independent Living Program) will be responsible for ensuring the daily operations of the Inwood House ACS Residential Programs. The programs encompass a holistic and therapeutic approach with a focus on ensuring permanency for young people. The Director of HTP and SILP is also responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of current programs as well as ensuring the infusion of all new programming initiatives. Together with the input and support of the Senior Division Director of Residential Services, the Director will ensure that each young person’s individual needs are being met in a qualitative manner which is informed by best practices in the field. The Director of HTP and SILP will ensure that all residences provide therapeutic services in a safe, nurturing and positive learning environment that will support and yield positive outcomes for the young people served. The Director of HTP and SILP is responsible for ensuring the safety and well being of all program participants and residential staff members.

Requirements

  • MSW, MHC or other related field with 3 years’ experience in Foster Care, DJJ, OCFS, or DYCD settings.
  • Knowledge or experience with trauma informed care.
  • Candidates should have experience working as part of a team and also be able to make decisions independently.
  • Ability to work with culturally diversified individuals.
  • Ability to establish professional boundaries and engage in professional behaviors that emulate a high level of ethics and objective/non-judgmental approach.
  • Possess excellent organizational, verbal, written and communication skills.
  • Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based perspective.
  • Candidate must be flexible-some evenings and weekend hours are required.

Nice To Haves

  • LMSW or LMHC with 2 years’ experience preferred.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License preferred and must possess the ability to travel.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
