About The Position

The Director of Fuel Operations will drive the growth, performance, and operational excellence of OTR’s fuel program. This leader will oversee customer success, support operations, and risk management while partnering cross‑functionally to scale the program, optimize processes, and elevate the customer experience. They will collaborate closely with leaders across Sales, Marketing, Data, Product, and Technology to design, test, and implement strategies—and will own their execution and long‑term performance.

Requirements

  • A strong operational mindset with the ability to optimize processes and scale teams effectively.
  • 8+ years of experience leading teams in customer success, retention, risk management, or operations (high‑growth environment experience is a plus).
  • The ability to quickly identify issues, set priorities, and drive execution in complex and dynamic environments.
  • A collaborative, intelligent, and data‑driven approach with strong executive presence and a bias for action.
  • High energy, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering excellence.
  • An engaging leadership style that builds credibility with internal teams, customers, and cross‑functional partners.

Responsibilities

  • You will design, test, and execute strategies to grow and optimize the fuel program in partnership with cross‑functional leaders.
  • You will collaborate with Data and Technology teams to automate workflows, enhance reporting, and scale fuel operations.
  • You will lead customer retention and resale initiatives to grow gallons from existing customers and ensure proper program placement.
  • You will manage key performance outcomes including gallon retention, in‑network utilization, credit approvals, and customer satisfaction.
  • You will oversee inbound support operations, escalations, and process improvements to drive efficiency and consistency.
  • You will refine underwriting and credit extension processes while monitoring credit exposure and making program removal decisions as needed.
  • You will direct collections efforts, oversee loss‑mitigation activities, and manage write‑off and collection procedures.
  • You will build, lead, and develop a high‑performing team with clear goals, accountability, and a strong culture of excellence.
