Edwards Health Care Services, Inc., a division of GEMCORE, is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Operations to lead our organization. This is a critical role for a results-oriented leader with a drive for process improvement. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading high-performing cross-functional operations teams. This individual will be responsible for leading four departments to include: Customer Service, Medical Documentation, Prior Authorization, and the Quality departments.

Requirements

  • Qualified candidates must have excellent verbal, written and computer skills with the ability to manage a multiple location team environment.
  • Superb organizational competence and quality orientation required.
  • Proficient in the knowledge of healthcare products, Medicare law, deductibles, co-payments and third party reimbursement for customer education and employee training purposes.
  • Ability to perform short and long term planning needed.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of management and operations experience in a customer service with healthcare environment strongly preferred.
  • Must have a broad base of healthcare products knowledge and billing operations experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • Excellent project and program management skills desired.
  • P & L experience helpful, but not necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, guidance, direction, and motivation that maximize operational effectiveness.
  • Define, implement, and revise operational policies and guidelines in order to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Work with each operation and department to set clear goals and prioritize all duties, tasks, and functions for operational efficiently.
  • Identify, communicate, and drive implementation of new initiatives, investments, and improvement projects.
  • Establish a managerial climate that encourages teamwork and promotes collaboration among all team members. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain all DME regulatory guidelines and standards. Ensure that all medical billing practices are in compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and HIPAA regulations and guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, government agencies, healthcare professionals, manufacturing and insurance companies on a continuing basis.
  • Establish metrics for key areas of measurement within DME operations and hold teams accountable to achieve or exceed these goals.
  • Make final determination for potential future shipments for insurances; analyzing if the contract is profitable.
  • Demonstrate awareness of company’s revenue margins through decisions and actions in order to maximize profits.
  • Understand the Accreditation process and maintain compliance with all standards.
