We are currently seeking dedicated and experienced individuals to fill the Director of FSQA role at our food manufacturing facility, a position that will require traveling. The primary responsibilities of this role is developing, implementing, and overseeing all food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance programs across the organization’s national food manufacturing operations. This role ensures all facilities maintain the highest standards of food safety, product quality, and regulatory adherence. The Director provides strategic leadership, leads cross-functional initiatives, drives a culture of continuous improvement to support operational excellence, ensures compliance with FDA/USDA or other governing agencies.

Requirements

  • 8–12+ years of progressive FSQA leadership experience in food or beverage manufacturing, with at least 3–5 years in a senior management role.
  • Strong knowledge of FSMA, HACCP, GMPs, GFSI schemes (SQF, BRC, FSSC 22000), and industry best practices.
  • Experience leading regulatory inspections and third-party audits.
  • Proven success driving cross-functional initiatives and managing multi-site environments
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and manage crises (e.g., recalls, regulatory actions).
  • Ability to travel between company facilities and client sites as needed

Responsibilities

  • Oversee compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA, FSMA, GFSI, HACCP).
  • Maintain and update food safety programs, including HACCP plans, Preventive Controls, allergen management, sanitation, environmental monitoring, and product traceability/recall systems.
  • Lead root-cause analysis initiatives and drive effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on food safety, quality programs, and certification standards (e.g., SQF, BRC, HACCP, GMPs, third party auditors).
  • Monitor regulatory changes and proactively adjust company programs to maintain compliance.
  • Lead company-wide food safety, quality and training initiatives, ensuring standardization and consistency across all facilities.
  • Develop and execute the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Monitor product performance, consumer feedback, and customer complaints; lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Partner with Operations, R&D, Supply Chain, and Procurement on product launches, process improvements, and quality-by-design initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of proactive risk mitigation and quality ownership across the organization.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop FSQA managers, supervisors, and technicians across one or multiple facilities.
  • Set performance goals, manage staffing, and oversee departmental budgeting.
  • Promote a strong culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Other duties as assigned.
