POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Field Marketing will develop the overarching strategy to drive traffic to our restaurants, build sales, and accelerate brand awareness through local marketing. This role leads the creation and execution of promotional strategies at the local and regional levels across each key market, while also developing fundraising and partnership strategies to strengthen local engagement. The Director will develop and implement local marketing plans, maximize local media and PR efforts, and ensure brand integrity is consistently maintained across all company initiatives to support long-term brand growth. This position partners closely with restaurant operations teams to execute marketing plans that deliver measurable business results. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this role works closely with the Marketing team to activate the brand strategy across all markets and leads a team of field marketers located in key markets nationwide. This role is based in the Restaurant Support Center in Oakbrook, Illinois. Define and oversee the field marketing strategy, goals, KPIs, and performance metrics to drive sustained results throughout the year Align local marketing strategies with brand and promotional strategies at the national level, as well as company growth goals Manage marketing efforts for new restaurant openings, including pre-opening activities, grand opening events, post-launch campaigns and post-mortems to drive continuous improvement in field marketing Oversee and deliver quarterly business reviews with the field marketing team and cross-functional partners Analyze local market trends, competitive landscape, and consumer behavior to inform marketing decisions Establish a data and insight-driven approach to refining local partnership strategy, optimizing campaigns and partnerships, and scaling relationships across markets Family: Work together to make everyone feel at home, and we step up when someone needs help Cultivate strategic relationships with restaurant operations leadership to drive alignment and collaboration on local marketing initiatives at the restaurant level Develop strategy to build and scale local partnerships with schools, community organizations, and businesses to foster brand loyalty Lead and mentor a team of field marketers across key markets nationwide Foster collaboration between marketing, restaurant operations and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of programs Oversee fundraising strategy and program management to strengthen community ties Energy: We move with urgency and passion, while maintaining attention to detail Develop and implement integrated local marketing plans to drive restaurant traffic, build sales, increase brand awareness and strengthen community engagement Provide strategic vision and direction of Portillo’s Food Truck (The Beef Bus) and oversee day-to-day management in partnership with cross-functional teams and outside agencies Manage and monitor field marketing performance, ensuring continuous improvement and optimization to drive sustained results throughout the year Manage local marketing budgets, including sponsorships and fundraising activity, ensuring cost-effective strategies that deliver ROI Ensure consistent brand messaging across all local channels and touch points Fun: We entertain our guests, we connect authentically, and we make each other smile Demonstrate a passion for the brand by living our purpose and values with a servant-leader mentality and authentic passion for the brand Partner with the PR/Communications team to maximize local media opportunities and public relations efforts to amplify brand awareness and drive trial Bring creativity, energy, and relevance to local activations, partnerships, and campaigns that reflect the fun and personality of the Portillo’s brand Other duties as assigned ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS This position leads the LRM (local restaurant marketing) tactics for all markets sales building and recruiting needs. The position has direct reports but may occasionally coordinate and hire sub-contracted workers for special occasions, events, and additional support. The Field Marketing Director regularly interacts with our Guests, Partners, Operations, Marketing, People & Recruiting, Legal, and Accounting/Finance teams.
