NUSO is currently looking for a Director of Federal & SLED Sales, lead the strategic expansion of our telecommunications and cloud communications portfolio within the public sector. This high-impact leadership role requires a deep understanding of the unique procurement cycles and regulatory requirements of federal agencies, state and local governments, and educational institutions. You will be responsible for driving revenue through the sale of Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS) and Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) solution, ensuring our technology empowers government entities to better serve their constituents. Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 8–10 years of senior-level sales experience specifically within the Federal and SLED sectors.
  • Domain Expertise: Proven track record selling Telecom , CCaaS , and UCaaS solutions.
  • Contracting Knowledge: Expert-level familiarity with public sector procurement processes, RFP/RFQ responses, and established contracting vehicles.
  • Proven Success: A documented history of exceeding sales quotas and managing multi-million-dollar government accounts.
  • Technical Literacy: Strong understanding of cloud architecture, VoIP, and omni-channel customer experience technologies.
  • Travel: Ability to travel as needed (typically 30–50%) to engage with government stakeholders and attend industry conferences.

Nice To Haves

  • Existing network of contacts within federal civilian/defense agencies or large-state government entities.
  • Experience transitioning government legacy on-premise systems to cloud-based subscription models.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to translate complex technical specifications into mission-driven outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive multi-year sales strategy to penetrate Federal and SLED markets.
  • Revenue Growth: Meet and exceed annual recurring revenue (ARR) targets by identifying, qualifying, and closing high-value opportunities.
  • Pipeline Management: Manage the full sales lifecycle, from initial prospecting and agency outreach to final contract award and implementation.
  • Contracting Expertise: Navigate and leverage complex SLED and Federal contracting mechanisms, including GSA Schedules, NASPO ValuePoint, E-Rate, and various agency-specific IDIQ or GWAC vehicles.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain C-level relationships with government CIOs, CTOs, and procurement officers to position our telecom and cloud services as mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Engineering, and Legal teams to ensure solutions meet rigorous compliance standards (e.g., FedRAMP, CJIS, HIPAA, or SOC2).
