This role ensures the effective operation of these systems, as well as the ongoing management of our EDI partners and external enrollment platforms, with a strong focus on delivering an overall positive service experience. The Director plays a critical role in building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and promoting collaboration to achieve the organization’s strategic goals. This includes ensuring employees understand and follow established processes and best practices, optimizing the onboarding experience, and driving flawless execution across all enrollment activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or similar discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of equivalent business experience required.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and management skills that reflect ability to prioritize tasks with attention to context, substance and detail while meeting performance goals and strict deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively build and extend relationships.
  • Shows initiative with a “can do attitude” and the ability to implement changes that will improve workflow and overall performance.
  • Proficiency with MS Office with advanced expertise in Excel.
  • Strong technical, project management, influencing, written and verbal communications skills.
  • Confidence in presenting ideas and concepts to leadership and other internal clients.
  • Persistent curiosity and a commitment to aggressively pursue continuous learning.
  • Ability to successfully organize and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment with superior attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA is a plus.
  • Insurance Industry experience preferred.
  • Insurance knowledge and strong technical expertise in API product management are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Product Owner for BMLEnroll and external benefit administration platforms, defining roadmaps, prioritizing enhancements, and driving user experience and performance optimization.
  • Manage relationships with all third-party enrollment solution providers and EDI partners, ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery, data accuracy, and timely issue resolution for platform integrations.
  • Ensure a seamless enrollment experience for internal and external stakeholders by proactively identifying process gaps, monitoring system performance, and analyzing feedback to drive continuous operational improvements.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for all complex enrollment-related issues stemming from BMLEnroll or external platforms, driving timely, cross-functional resolution and implementing root-cause solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain strong governance across all enrollment systems to ensure data integrity, regulatory compliance, and consistent, standardized execution of processes.
  • Partner closely with Distribution and cross-functional teams to support key strategic enrollment initiatives and optimize critical enrollment workflows and processes.
  • Define and own the API product strategy for external platforms, ensuring API offerings are tightly aligned with broader business goals and customer integration needs.
  • Collaborate with IT, Distribution, Client Services, and Compliance teams to define clear external API product requirements, lead product discovery, and deliver successful, value-driven releases.
  • Oversee and manage Salesforce for Distribution and Underwriting, ensuring system configuration, workflows, and functionality align precisely with business objectives.
  • Support training and knowledge-sharing initiatives to strengthen internal capabilities and ensure all employees consistently execute established onboarding procedures and best practices.
