About The Position

Colibri Group is hiring a Director of Engineering to lead the vision, architecture, and execution of our AI-powered Content Engine and LMS platforms. This leader will own the modernization and unification of Colibri’s global content infrastructure—powering learning experiences across multiple brands—and drive the development of next-generation AI-based content aggregation, generation, and personalization engines. This is a high-impact platform role focused on AI, distributed systems, and large-scale content delivery across web, mobile, and e-commerce ecosystems.

Requirements

  • 12+ years in software engineering
  • 5+ years in senior engineering leadership (Director level or above)
  • Proven experience building large-scale CMS/LMS or EdTech platforms
  • Strong background leading AI/ML-enabled systems (vector search, hybrid retrieval, generative AI)
  • Experience managing global, distributed teams
  • Familiarity with enterprise SaaS integrations and data platform architectures
  • Cloud-native architecture (AWS preferred)
  • Distributed systems and microservices
  • AI-driven workflow automation
  • LMS standards (SCORM, xAPI)
  • Semantic search, metadata architecture, and content lifecycle management
  • E-commerce systems and digital product monetization
  • Strategic thinker with deep technical credibility
  • Strong communicator who aligns cross-functional teams around shared outcomes
  • Comfortable operating at both architecture and executive levels
  • Able to balance innovation with operational excellence

Responsibilities

  • Platform & Architecture Leadership
  • Modernize and unify legacy LMS and content delivery systems into a scalable global platform
  • Architect AI-based content aggregation, generation, and adaptive recommendation engines
  • Design content ingestion pipelines, metadata frameworks, semantic search, and NLP-driven discovery systems
  • Lead development of AI Agents, event-driven microservices, and serverless architectures on AWS
  • Blend traditional CMS/LMS systems with modern search, vector retrieval, and hybrid AI frameworks
  • Ensure strong integration across enterprise systems (Salesforce, NetSuite, Workday, analytics platforms)

  • Lead and scale a global, distributed engineering organization
  • Drive a culture of accountability, ownership, and innovation
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Data, and Design to align engineering execution with product strategy
