About The Position

The Director, Employee and Executive Communications is responsible for shaping and executing the internal communications and executive communications strategy for Ericsson in the Americas. This role strengthens understanding and engagement with Ericsson's strategy, purpose, and culture while positioning senior leaders as credible, visible, and inspiring voices for employees. All communications align with Ericsson's communications policy and brand, supporting strategic objectives and strengthening the company's brand position. This role partners closely with regional leadership, Group Function Marketing & Communications, People (HR), and business area organizations across a highly matrixed, global environment.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in communications, with significant focus on employee/internal communications and executive communications in large, complex, international organizations; technology or B2B experience strongly preferred
  • Proven track record building integrated internal communication strategies that support business transformation, culture, and performance
  • Demonstrated ability to advise and coach senior executives, with strong executive presence and confidence in high-stakes environments
  • Exceptional storytelling, writing, and editing skills in US English, with the ability to synthesize complex topics into clear, engaging messages for diverse employee audiences
  • Solid experience with change and issues/crisis communications, including working in close partnership with Legal, HR, and Security
  • Strong project and program management skills; able to prioritize, plan, and deliver multiple initiatives on tight timelines
  • Experience working in or with highly matrixed, global organizations and cross-functional teams
  • Champion the adoption of generative AI across strategic content development and communications, leveraging AI to accelerate content production, personalize stakeholder experiences at scale, and bring new levels of agility to communication strategies

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead an integrated employee and executive communications strategy for the Americas, aligned with global Ericsson priorities
  • Translate business strategy, transformation, and performance into clear, compelling narratives for employee audiences
  • Define annual and quarterly communication plans, channels, and key moments such as all-hands meetings, live events, and campaigns
  • Establish goals, KPIs, and listening mechanisms to continuously improve communication effectiveness
  • Lead the AI transformation of the internal communication function
  • Serve as a strategic communications advisor to senior leaders, helping them articulate vision, strategy, and priorities to employees
  • Develop and manage executive platforms including town halls, leader roadshows, internal videos, blogs, talking points, speeches, and Q&A sessions
  • Prepare leaders for critical internal moments such as organizational changes, strategy launches, performance updates, and crisis-related communications
  • Coach leaders on storytelling, presence, and message discipline, ensuring consistency with Ericsson's brand and tone of voice
  • Own the editorial strategy for internal channels in the Americas, ensuring content is correct, relevant, up to date, accessible, and comprehensible
  • Lead major internal campaigns that drive understanding and adoption of key initiatives
  • Partner with People (HR) to support employee lifecycle communications including onboarding, engagement surveys, performance and development, inclusion, and wellbeing
  • Support change and transformation programs with clear, timely, and empathetic communication plans
  • Act as a core member of the regional communications response in issues and crisis situations
  • Collaborate with Security, People, Legal, and other functions to ensure employee and stakeholder communications are coordinated and compliant
  • Coordinate across a high-performing employee and executive communications team for the Americas
  • Champion common standards and best practices for internal and leadership communications across the region
  • Manage relationships with agencies, freelancers, and production partners as needed
  • Oversee budget planning and resource allocation for employee and executive communications programs
  • Establish measurement frameworks for key activities to assess reach, engagement, and sentiment
  • Use data, employee feedback, and survey insights to refine messaging and channels and to advise leadership on emerging trends and risks

  • The salary range for this position is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
  • Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit’s objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.
  • Ericsson offers excellent health benefits including the choice of three medical plan options and a dental plan option that allow an employee to select the level of coverage that suits their needs. Employees will receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost that Ericsson pays toward the cost of their medical and dental premiums for themselves and eligible covered dependents.
  • The Ericsson US 401(k) Plan offers an automatic 3% company contribution and Ericsson match $1 for every $1 you put into the 401(k) Plan on the first 3% of your eligible pay, plus 50 cents on every $1 on the next 2% of eligible pay. When you contribute at least 5% of eligible pay, you are receiving Ericsson’s full matching contributions of 4%. Matching and company automatic contributions stop when your total eligible pay for the year reaches the IRS limits. Employees will also receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost of basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage, as well as short-term and long-term disability coverage. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson’s Stock Purchase Plan.
  • New employees are provided a minimum of 15 days of accrued vacation, up to 3 personal days per year, 11 annual holidays, 8 hours of volunteer time, and 80 hours of sick time annually. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee’s start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
