About The Position

The Director of Electrical Operations is responsible for leading and overseeing all electrical construction operations across multiple projects. This role ensures projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirements and electrical codes. The Director of Electrical Operations provides strategic and hands-on leadership to project management and field teams, drives operational consistency, and partners with executive leadership to support business growth and profitability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 12–20+ years of progressive experience in electrical construction operations.
  • Proven leadership experience managing multiple electrical projects and teams.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installation methods, and NEC requirements.
  • Experience managing project financials, forecasts, and WIP reporting.
  • Ability to lead in fast-paced, multi-project environments.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee electrical construction operations across multiple projects.
  • Ensure compliance with contract documents, electrical codes (NEC), safety standards, and company policies.
  • Drive operational excellence in safety, quality, productivity, and cost control for electrical scopes.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop electrical project managers, superintendents, and field leadership.
  • Establish and enforce standardized electrical operating procedures and best practices.
  • Partner with preconstruction and estimating teams to support bids, risk reviews, and project handoffs.
  • Monitor project financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, productivity, and margin management.
  • Support resource planning, manpower forecasting, and workforce development.
  • Resolve escalated project issues, change orders, and claims related to electrical work.
  • Collaborate with safety, quality, and compliance teams to ensure regulatory requirements are met.
  • Support business development efforts with operational input and client engagement.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, technology, and operational efficiencies specific to electrical construction.
