About The Position

The Director of Educator Field Placement, Licensure, and Workforce Development leads the School of Education’s efforts to strengthen the educator pipeline through high-quality field experiences, licensure alignment, and data-informed workforce strategies. The Director ensures that educator preparation programs produce equity-minded, effective, and licensed educators who meet the Commonwealth’s evolving workforce needs. This position oversees the full continuum of educator preparation — from field placement identification to licensure endorsement and workforce data analysis — in compliance with Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) regulations. The Director provides leadership in partnership development, data systems, and assessment practices that connect preparation programs to statewide workforce priorities.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Policy, or a related field (Doctorate preferred)
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in educator preparation, licensure management, or workforce data analysis
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DESE licensure regulations, CAP processes, and educator preparation compliance
  • Experience building and sustaining partnerships with P–12 districts and supervising practitioners
  • Strong data management and analytical skills, with experience in compliance or workforce reporting
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to equity, access, and continuous improvement in educator workforce development

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate in Education, Educational Leadership, Policy, or a related field
  • Experience using Edwin Analytics, CAP, or comparable education data systems
  • Familiarity with Title II reporting and accreditation processes
  • Experience in teacher preparation program leadership or P–12 partnership coordination
  • Background in PK-12 special education, multilingual learning, and/or literacy
  • Licensed by DESE (as an administrator, specialist teacher, or academic teacher)
  • Knowledge of workforce trends in educator supply, demand, and retention
  • Knowledge of SIS, Summit and Perceptive Content, UML Analytics, SIS, Salesforce, Qualtrics, Canvas
