About The Position

Piper Companies is seeking a Director, Direct Lending to join a rapidly growing credit union located in Hauppauge, NY. This individual will lead the consumer loan department and execute independent, risk-based assurance reviews of the consumer credit portfolio.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or minimum of 8 years in consumer credit underwriting.
At least 6 years of progressive credit underwriting experience.
Minimum 3 years of leadership/supervisory experience.
Proficiency in DNA, credit report analysis, and loan origination.
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

Oversee research, development, communication, and implementation of consumer lending policies.
Analyze lending data to identify risks, trends, and areas for improvement.
Ensure lending volume and profit goals are met.
Maintain integrity and performance of all Consumer Lending Rules and Decisioning.
Build and maintain strong relationships with line of business management and risk management teams.
Conduct risk-based reviews of consumer lending operations.
Identify weaknesses in credit processes and emerging trends impacting operations.
Recommend solutions for gaps in credit policy.
Collaborate with regulators and auditors to ensure sound Credit Review processes.
