About The Position

Reporting to the Vice President of Student Affairs, this position provides leadership and oversight for Spokane Falls Community College’s Outreach and Dual Enrollment programs. This position is equal parts relational and strategic, a goal-oriented problem solver, and believes in the lifelong value of a Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC) education. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Business or related field. Or an equivalent mix of education and experience that demonstrates the candidate meets all competency requirements for this position.
  • Three years’ experience coordinating education programs, events, projects, or activities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated passion for, commitment to, and success with serving youth, underrepresented populations, and adult learners.
  • Knowledge of planning, implementation, and monitoring of budgets and contracts.
  • Knowledge of K-12 education system with the ability to interpret regulations and guidelines to remain in compliance.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and ethical working practices.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with internal and external program partners.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively organize multiple work assignments, involving competing priorities, to produce accurate work products of high quality, to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience building/leading teams including supervisory skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for the development, expansion, and administration of SFCC’s Community Outreach and Dual Enrollment programs in accordance with guidelines established by the Spokane Colleges, the Washington State Board of Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC), Running Start, and the Gateway to College National Network.
  • Develop and implement a recruitment and operational plan for Outreach and Dual Enrollment programs that includes budget management to ensure the economical and effective use of the financial resources.
  • Develop and foster collaborative relationships with school districts, teachers and counselors, community organizations, businesses, and other program partners.
  • Provide a friendly, supportive and collegial atmosphere for students, faculty, staff, and the public.
  • Collaborate with the Student Success Technology Manager for recruitment initiatives.
  • Manage prospect plans to enhance contact and conversion rates, supervise drip campaigns, lead assignments, task creation, and reporting efforts.
  • Maintain, update, and refine recruitment communications and processes within the Customer Relationship Management tool, delegating tasks to staff as needed.
  • Track and analyze student-facing communications, including outreach to prospective and current students, to identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities for improving engagement, increasing enrollment, and aligning across the student lifecycle.
  • Chair the SFCC Outreach and Recruitment Committee to align recruitment efforts with strategic goals and equity initiatives, maintain performance indicators, and enhance strategies for underrepresented populations.
  • Coordinate participation in community events and college fairs and collaborate with district marketing and campus leadership on enrollment communication plans.
  • Collaborate with Instruction to develop outreach and marketing plans for high-priority instructional areas. Assist with implementation of these plans.
  • Oversee the management of facilities rentals and external events on campus to strategically promote SFCC to the community.
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum related to Dual Enrollment programs ensuring curriculum fulfills both high school diploma and college degree requirements.
  • In partnership with Instruction, review credentials and organize orientation for college and high school concurrent enrollment faculty.
  • Ensure contract compliance. Assist the Vice President with the development and negotiation of contracts with school districts and other program partners. Responsible for coordination of contracts with current and potential partnerships. Independently consult with program participants and teachers regarding course setup, registration and payments. Provide information regarding program policies and activities and recommend alternative courses of action.
  • Serve as the liaison for SFCC’s Dual Enrollment programs at national, state, and local levels.
  • Supervise exempt, classified, and work-study employees (train, schedule, evaluate, discipline and respond to grievances). Adhere to classified contracts and all district rules and regulations ensuring efficient operations of programs.
  • Inform and educate staff about behavior and performance expectations, provide timely and accurate feedback regarding performance, and ensure performance and behavioral problems are corrected promptly and effectively.
  • Track and report program enrollment trends, program completion, and retention and placement success. Monitor activities to determine consistency with program goals and ensure timely and accurate information is communicated to the Spokane Colleges Business Office.
  • Monitor and ensure SFCC’s compliance with external regulatory bodies, e.g., National Alliance of Dual Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) for all concurrent enrollment programs.
  • Prepare a wide variety of materials such as procedures, analyses, and reports to provide recommendations about program activities, future trends, and issues related to concurrent enrollment.
  • Promote concurrent enrollment programs via school and community meetings as well as participation on advisory boards.
  • Model professional decorum and mutual respect in all personal interactions.
  • Comply with district policies, procedures and directives, state and federal regulations, orders and statutes and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Support and advance the Spokane Colleges’ strategic plan and perform related duties as required.
