About The Position

The Director of Community Impact is a strategic leader responsible for advancing the organization’s mission by increasing community awareness, expanding access to behavioral health education, and building strong, sustainable partnerships. This role coordinates and delivers high-impact community engagement initiatives, oversees educational programming. The Director represents the organization in advocacy and outreach efforts. The Director also supervises staff to ensure excellence, accountability and mission aligned program delivery.

Requirements

Strong public speaking and facilitation skills, able to engage diverse audiences in-person and virtually.
Excellent computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Canva, Zoom, and related platforms.
Exceptional organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills.
Self-motivated and reliable, able to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and engage community partners.
5 years of supervisory experience.
Master’s Degree in a Mental Health–related field required

Clinical experience preferred.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve as a representative of the organization in local and regional mental health advocacy efforts, coalitions, and community forums to elevate public awareness and understanding of behavioral health issues.
Represent, or coordinate representation of, the organization in response to requests for mental health education and information (e.g., Mental Health 101, Mental Health First Aid, Veteran and mental health).
Identify, develop, and maintain partnerships with community agencies, service providers, schools, businesses, and other stakeholders to expand outreach and impact.
Coordinate and maintain comprehensive directories of community resources, including behavioral health providers and agencies, for internal and public access (website-based).
Ensure program sustainability and growth through the development, implementation, and promotion of fee-for-service trainings, conferences, and community-based educational offerings.
Support strategic marketing and outreach efforts, including website content, social media engagement, and material distribution, to increase program visibility and participation.
Establish, monitor, and evaluate program performance metrics to ensure annual goals and outcomes are met or exceeded, utilizing data for continuous improvement.
Provide supervision, guidance, and leadership to staff, fostering accountability, professional development, and alignment with organizational goals.
Model professional leadership through sound judgment, positive morale, and behaviors that promote an empowering, inclusive, and person-centered organizational culture.
Continually enhance knowledge and skills related to behavioral health services, community education, and nonprofit leadership.
Coordinate trainings and conferences for mental health professionals, including scheduling, contracting, outreach, registration, and CEU distribution, ensuring compliance with credentialing requirements.
Provide leadership oversight of Helpline services, including staffing, scheduling, and ensuring timely, accurate, and compassionate responses to calls, emails, and in-person inquiries.
Maintain up-to-date directories of community services and behavioral health resources.
Serve as lead organizer and facilitator for community mental health education initiatives.
Coordinate and track participation data, outcomes, and feedback from presentations and events.
Engage individuals and groups to raise awareness of behavioral health issues, services, and resources through presentations and outreach events.
Facilitate outreach in schools, businesses, community centers, conferences, and public events, using both in-person and virtual platforms.
Facilitate and/or present workshops as needed.
Provide executive and programmatic oversight of the agency’s Veterans Program, including the Joseph P. Dwyer Veterans Peer Project, ensuring alignment with the agency’s mission, contractual obligations, and best practices in Veteran-centered care.
Supervise and support the Veteran Program Coordinator, providing guidance on program development, performance, compliance, and sustainability.
Monitor program outcomes, reports, and data collection to ensure timely and accurate reporting to agency leadership, County, and State partners.
Support the development and maintenance of partnerships with Veteran-serving organizations, government entities, and community stakeholders.
Collaborate with program leadership to identify service gaps, growth opportunities, and emerging needs within the Veteran community.
Ensure program quality, accountability, and adherence to trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and peer-driven principles.
Oversee staff leading family and friends support groups.
Develop and implement new support groups in response to emerging community needs and service gaps.
