About The Position

The Director of Campus Crisis Support provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of campus-wide crisis response services to ensure a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment for the children we serve. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring policies, procedures, and practices related to crisis intervention, incident management, and emergency response across campus.  Schedule: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm with required flexibility for evenings and weekends as determined by campus needs. Must be on-call 24/7

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3 years experience in trauma informed crisis intervention preferred
  • 3 years supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong verbal, written, and computer skills
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License
  • Ability to access and utilize ADP app on smartphone or other device for access to agency programs
  • Must possess ability to sit, stand, walk, run, climb stairs
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions
  • Must participate in and maintain certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training. All staff will be evaluated on conducting a proper physical restraint upon hire and periodically throughout employment. Must maintain CPR/First Aid certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all policies and procedures are monitored, reviewed, developed, and updated as needed.
  • Works closely with school and residential leadership to ensure effective open communication across campus.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, and supervising all campus crisis support staff, Captain of Campus Crisis Support and AODs.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership in the short and long-term strategic planning process for campus programs.
  • Direct oversight of incident management including but not limited to IR documentation, Justice Center/police reporting as well as notification to families when appropriate.
  • Conduct routine observations and provide feedback during formal supervision and check-in meetings.
  • Visibility across campus with presence on-site in the mornings, evenings and weekends based on campus needs.
  • Monitors the external environment for changes in laws, rules and regulations and integrate those changes into agency practices.
  • Leads special projects under the direction of the AVP of Programs.
  • Supports overall strategic plan of the organization.
