About The Position

Director of Business Systems Location: You must reside in San Antonio, Helotes, Castroville, or Uvalde, Texas at the time of offer. Why Work With Us Are you ready to be part of a story that’s lasted over 120 years? At Blades Group LLC, we exist to glorify God by sharing His unique creation with the world and transforming communities through our natural road repair solutions. We’re a purpose-driven company where every system, process, and person matters. When you join us, you’re not just improving workflows — you’re helping real people and shaping how we grow. Our Core Values guide everything we do: We own our mistakes. We work hard and it shows. We overcome obstacles. We believe people matter; everyone has innate value and is to be treated with dignity and respect. We are better today than we were yesterday. The Opportunity We’re seeking a hands-on, mission-minded Director of Business Systems to join our leadership team and own the technology ecosystem that drives our business forward. You’ll act as architect, integrator, and internal consultant — turning plain-English business goals into connected, measurable systems that accelerate growth. We’re deeply invested in Zoho, but we’re tool-agnostic. You’ll evaluate, select, and configure the best solutions — building automation and integrations yourself when practical, or guiding vendors when scale demands it. This role touches every corner of the company — Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and HR — unifying them through data and process. You’ll work directly with the President and department heads to improve visibility, reduce friction, and ensure our platform scales securely as we grow. Your success will be measured by smarter systems, faster decisions, and teams who can focus on what matters most. Are You Someone Who… Finds satisfaction in seeing systems run smoothly — when data connects, automation flows, and teams work in sync. Can sit with anyone in the company, understand their needs, and design practical, lasting solutions. Builds quickly but carefully — balancing speed, structure, and security. Thinks in systems but communicates in plain English. Leads without ego and brings calm clarity when others feel pressure. Can turn “we need this by next week” into a scoped plan, realistic timeline, and working deliverable. Loves helping people win because the tools you built make their jobs easier. Cares deeply about purpose and wants to build technology that serves others. If that sounds like you, you’ll fit right in.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience owning or administering business systems such as CRM, ERP, HRIS, or Finance platforms.
  • Hands-on Zoho experience (CRM, Creator, Flow, Deluge) or equivalent low-code/serverless platforms ( Python, Power Automate, Airtable, Salesforce).
  • Proven success supporting rapid growth ($20M–$50M+) while maintaining stability and clean data.
  • Ability to translate business goals into scoped plans, clear timelines, and delivered solutions.
  • Expertise integrating data across systems — accounting, HR/payroll, web, IVR, and analytics tools.
  • Experience linking marketing automation and attribution to revenue impact.
  • Strong communication skills — confident, clear, and collaborative.
  • A documentation mindset — every change backed by diagrams, notes, and how-tos.
  • Vendor and platform oversight experience with measurable accountability.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS in IS/CS) a plus, not required.
  • Zoho certifications (CRM Admin, Deluge/Catalyst) preferred.
  • Cloud/Security certifications (CompTIA Security+, CISSP, AWS/Azure Architect) a plus.
  • Project certifications (PMP, ITIL, or Agile) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own the business systems ecosystem. Architect, configure, and maintain core systems — CRM, ERP, HR, Finance, and Operations — under a unified, secure framework.
  • Automate workflows. Eliminate manual tasks, reduce errors, and create processes that scale effortlessly.
  • Integrate data. Ensure every system speaks the same language and maintains a single source of truth for leadership.
  • Build and enhance. Develop custom solutions and automations directly when feasible; oversee vendors when scope or speed requires.
  • Deliver new capabilities. Empower teams with tools that improve efficiency, insight, and collaboration.
  • Measure what matters. Define KPIs, build dashboards, and ensure reporting aligns with financial data.
  • Maintain integrity and compliance. Enforce access controls, audit trails, and best practices for data security.
  • Guide innovation. Evaluate and pilot new tools, integrations, and AI solutions that meaningfully improve how we operate.
  • Manage vendors and platforms. Oversee contracts, performance, and change management with clarity and accountability.
  • Communicate clearly. Publish concise weekly updates and maintain documentation that makes every system understandable and supportable.
