About The Position

The Director of Business Systems & Intelligence will establish and lead the company's enterprise systems function across Finance, HR, Legal, Sales, and Operations. This leader will architect, integrate, and optimize business platforms including ERP, CRM, HRM, and corporate data systems. The role combines strategic vision with deep hands-on expertise, responsible for ensuring compliance (SOX, SOC 2, ISO 27001), automation, and data-driven decision support. The Director will build and lead a small engineering and analytics team, manage vendors and budgets, and serve as the primary technical liaison to business stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 10-20 years in enterprise systems or MIS leadership, including at least 5 years in a management role.
  • Proven hands-on expertise with NetSuite and Salesforce; desirable exposure to Workday, BambooHR, or similar systems.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft data ecosystems (Azure, SQL, Power BI) and modern integration frameworks (REST APIs, iPaaS, ETL tools).
  • Experience in publicly traded or SOX-regulated companies with direct exposure to audit and compliance operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and operate within IT governance, access control, and data privacy frameworks.
  • Familiarity with identity management and integration (SSO, SAML, SCIM).
  • Working knowledge of ITIL, Jira, and enterprise asset lifecycle processes.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, negotiate with vendors, and deliver measurable ROI through automation and integration.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical and operational owner for ERP (NetSuite), CRM (Salesforce), HRM (ADP or equivalent), and financial data lake environments.
  • Architect and optimize system design, integrations, and workflows to support Finance, HR, Legal, Sales, and Operations.
  • Lead system implementation, integration, upgrade, and migration initiatives from planning through delivery.
  • Define and execute a multi-year roadmap for business systems and intelligence aligned to enterprise goals.
  • Integrate corporate systems using APIs, webhooks, and middleware for seamless data flow and process automation.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for system updates, configuration management, and deployment automation.
  • Define and manage data pipelines into the Microsoft-based data lake; ensure integrity and consistency across financial and operational data.
  • Develop and oversee BI dashboards and executive reporting to support operational visibility and compliance monitoring.
  • Collaborate with Security, GRC, and Internal Audit to design and enforce SOX ITGCs and other compliance controls.
  • Implement and maintain access control models, audit logging, role-based provisioning, and data retention policies.
  • Support evidence generation for SOX, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and other external audit frameworks.
  • Drive change management, documentation, and release governance in alignment with ITIL principles.
  • Own incident, change, and problem management processes related to enterprise systems.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and data integrity using observability and monitoring tools.
  • Establish KPIs and reporting dashboards for IT leadership to guide prioritization and performance optimization.
  • Partner with Finance, HR, Sales, and other executives to define business needs and translate them into scalable, auditable system solutions.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison for ERP/CRM/HRM roadmap planning, requirements gathering, and project delivery.
  • Manage vendors and service providers, ensuring contractual compliance, SLA performance, and cost optimization.
  • Drive user enablement and training to increase adoption, efficiency, and system utilization.
