Beck is looking for a qualified Director of Business Development to join an extraordinary project team. As the Director of Business Development, you will work in a team environment and be responsible for building a growing base of business. You will do this by identifying, pursuing, and developing relationships within current and potential market segments and client organizations where appreciation exists for the added value/integration brought by our company. This leadership position will be asked to participate in strategic planning, innovation, and the overall direction of the office. A person with a passion to lead, develop, and mentor their teams while also having the ability to train and coach others, communicate effectively and collaboratively with all team members. You also possess uncompromising authenticity and integrity, a passion to get things done, and the confidence to present and win project pursuits. An ideal candidate will have an interest in the integrated project delivery method and in the innovation of process improvement and technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience required
  • Encourages and coaches others to behave in ways that exhibit Beck's values

  • Provides mentorship and training to other staff
  • Highly knowledgeable in general business operations, marketing, management; if the person holds a technical degree, is also proficient in technical practice

  • Excellent leadership/managerial and mentoring/teaching skills

Responsibilities

  • Organize, plan, schedule, and manage their regions sales efforts
  • Determine sales objectives to meet firm-wide goals
  • Manage client satisfaction program (scorecards)
  • Approval of pursuits - coordinate go/no-go for region/section pursuits
  • Maintain a strong business network
  • Attend industry and client events
  • Support and lead national marketing objectives
  • Influence other aspects of firm direction and operations, such as production, finance, administration, and human resources
  • Represent the firm at the highest level to clients, peer organizations, and business associates
  • Make commitments on behalf of the firm
  • Work with technical staff to develop proposals and scopes of work and estimate fees
  • Direct training of marketing staff and technical staff on Business Development-related issues
  • Maintain a high profile in professional and community organizations
  • Attend pre-bids and client interviews
  • Recommend adjustments to "non-marketing" operations to ensure optimum responsiveness to business/marketing plan goals
  • Serve on the Board for an Industry Organization
