About The Position

Stevens Foster Financial Advisors is a Bloomington-based, SEC-registered wealth management firm serving corporate executives and high-net-worth individuals. Our integrated platform combines financial planning, tax strategy, and investment management to support complex financial needs with coordination and discipline. We are a relationship-driven firm with deep roots in the Twin Cities professional community. Our approach emphasizes technical depth, thoughtful planning, and long-term client trust. We are seeking an experienced business development professional to lead new client acquisition efforts in the Twin Cities market. This role combines strategic relationship cultivation with active client conversion. The Director of Business Development will identify, engage, and advance relationships with corporate executives and high-net-worth individuals, while supporting the successful conversion of those relationships into long-term advisory clients. This is a growth-focused, revenue-accountable position designed for a professional who is comfortable representing investment and wealth management strategies in executive-level conversations.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of business development, relationship management, or professional services sales experience
  • Experience in wealth management or financial services
  • Experience working directly with corporate executives and high-net-worth individuals
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate and convert professional relationships
  • Established Twin Cities professional network
  • Experience presenting investment or financial planning solutions
  • Strong consultative communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (Redtail preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or related field

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of portfolio construction concepts and asset allocation frameworks
  • Ability to discuss investment strategy and market conditions with fluency and confidence
  • Experience collaborating with investment or trading teams in a wealth management environment
  • Professional designation (Series 65, CFP®, CFA®, or progress toward licensure)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a targeted business development strategy aligned with firm growth objectives
  • Identify, cultivate, and advance relationships with corporate executives and high-net-worth individuals
  • Build and strengthen referral relationships with attorneys, CPAs, and other professional partners
  • Represent Stevens Foster at industry, networking, and community events
  • Communicate the firm’s integrated planning, tax, and investment approach with clarity and professionalism
  • Present investment and wealth management solutions to prospective clients
  • Advance qualified prospects through structured discovery conversations
  • Partner with Advisors to support a smooth onboarding and long-term relationship transition process
  • Collaborate on firm marketing initiatives and strategic visibility efforts
  • Contribute insights regarding target markets and growth opportunities
  • Maintain accurate prospect activity and pipeline reporting in Redtail CRM
  • Track acquisition metrics and growth progress
  • Achieve agreed-upon annual growth and revenue objectives
