THE OPPORTUNITY We are seeking a Director of Business Analytics to help scale our analytics function and elevate how our business & customers leverage data for growth & security. The ideal candidate blends a finance-oriented background (banking, consulting, PE/VC) with strong technical analytics capabilities, including SQL, data modeling, and data visualization. You enjoy operating as a player-coach: leading a team while staying hands-on to deliver high-impact analyses yourself. This is a high-visibility, cross-functional role shaping how the company understands performance, customers, and growth.

Requirements

  • 8–12+ years of experience, ideally starting in finance, investment banking, consulting, or VC/PE before transitioning into analytics, strategy, or FP&A leadership roles.
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing analytics teams.
  • Strong track record as both an individual contributor and a strategic partner to executives.
  • Expert-level SQL and data modeling.
  • Strong experience with Tableau or similar BI tools.
  • Familiarity with modern data stacks (e.g., Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran).
  • Experience developing forecasting models, customer analytics, and financial analysis frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills.
  • Executive presence and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong problem solving, prioritization, and project management.
  • Comfort in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

  • Establish scalable analytics processes, data governance, KPI frameworks, and best practices.
  • Partner with the various leaders to define the long-term analytics roadmap and maturity model.
  • Support the CFO with modeling, forecasting, board-level metrics, financial analysis, and investment frameworks.
  • Assist with customer health, retention, segmentation, churn prediction, and expansion analytics.
  • Present findings, recommendations, and insights to senior leadership with clarity and influence.
  • Write advanced SQL to build datasets, pipelines, and deep-dive analyses.
  • Design dashboards and visualizations in Tableau (or equivalent BI tools).
  • Define and maintain core business metrics and ensure data quality across systems.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses to uncover drivers of performance, customer behavior patterns, and operational efficiency opportunities.
  • Develop and operationalize forecasting models, statistical analyses, and predictive insights.
  • Grow and mentor the business analytics team to ensure sustained high-performance.
