About The Position

The Director of Brand & Creative leads the development and expression of the Sun & Ski Sports brand across all customer touchpoints. This role is responsible for translating brand strategy into compelling, consistent experiences across retail stores, marketing channels, community partnerships, and owned creative. This leader oversees the creative team, guides brand storytelling, and ensures that the in-store and external brand experience drives awareness, consideration, and long-term customer loyalty.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading brand and creative functions for a multi-channel retail or consumer brand.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise across both traditional and digital media.
  • Experience translating brand strategy into physical retail environments is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success building and leading high-performing creative teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and insights to inform creative decisions.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience with graphic design, creative development, and/or copywriting.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Passion for outdoor activities such as ski, snowboard, cycling, water sports, surf, swim, and/or run is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Champion and evolve the Sun & Ski Sports brand identity, voice, and visual standards across all channels.
  • Identify and prioritize initiatives that strengthen brand perception, differentiation, and emotional connection with customers.
  • Lead measurement and reporting of brand health metrics, including awareness, consideration, and brand sentiment.
  • Lead, organize, and mentor the internal creative team in the development of high-impact assets across digital, print, in-store, and experiential channels.
  • Ensure all creative output is on-brand, performance-minded, and aligned with business and campaign objectives.
  • Establish efficient creative processes, workflows, and quality standards.
  • Own the look, feel, and effectiveness of in-store signage and visual presentation across all locations.
  • Partner closely with Store Operations and District Managers to implement updates, maintain brand standards, and ensure consistency at scale.
  • Regularly gather feedback from store teams to inform improvements to signage, storytelling, and the physical customer experience.
  • Partner with Marketing, Promotions, and Channel teams to bring campaigns to life in-store and ensure cohesive cross-channel brand storytelling.
  • Support key seasonal and promotional initiatives with strong creative direction and in-store execution.
  • Recommend, develop, and manage sponsorships, ambassador programs, referral programs, and local grassroots efforts that authentically connect the brand to outdoor communities.
  • Ensure partnerships reflect brand values and drive both awareness and local engagement.
  • Advocate for a customer-first mindset, ensuring brand and creative decisions enhance both the user experience (UX) and in-store customer experience (CX).
  • Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing creative team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
