About The Position

Meridian HealthCare, a leader in integrated healthcare services, is seeking a Director of Behavioral Health Services to oversee the clinical, operational, and administrative functions of our behavioral health programs. This role provides leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care while maintaining compliance with all regulatory, licensing, and accreditation standards.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field required.
  • Independent clinical license (LISW, LPCC, or equivalent) required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive clinical and supervisory experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of clinical best practices, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and multiple program sites preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide weekly clinical and administrative supervision of assessment, counseling, and prevention activities, including diagnosis assignment, treatment plan review, and program/staff recommendations.
  • Maintain minutes of individual and group supervision meetings; identify problem areas and implement strategies for improvement.
  • Review clinical productivity data and provide feedback to program managers; assign staff as needed to meet productivity goals.
  • Develop clinical department goals and objectives; monitor progress and ensure alignment with agency mission and policies.
  • Oversee specialized grants and programs for specific populations, including women, children, and individuals affected by gambling.
  • Ensure quality assurance and compliance with all audits, licensing reviews, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in interviewing and hiring processes; oversee staff onboarding, training, and supervision.
  • Address performance issues and conduct annual evaluations, including setting performance objectives and identifying areas for development.
  • Develop and implement systems and procedures to meet the clinical needs of diverse client populations in collaboration with the executive team.
  • Assign and monitor clinical staff to ensure effective service delivery and positive client outcomes.
  • Provide evaluative data and program reports to the Chief Behavioral Health Officer and executive leadership as requested.
  • Provide clinical support and counseling coverage as needed, including crisis intervention.
  • Participate in ongoing staff development, safety practices, and agency meetings.
