About The Position
We are seeking a Director of Behavioral Health Services to provide strategic and clinical leadership for a respected healthcare organization in San Francisco, CA. In this full-time role, you will oversee behavioral health programs, support multidisciplinary teams, drive quality initiatives, and ensure that patients receive timely, effective, and compassionate mental health services.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Nursing, or related discipline
- Active California license: LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, PhD, PsyD, or RN with psychiatric specialty
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in behavioral health, including supervisory or administrative responsibilities
- Solid knowledge of clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and the community behavioral health landscape
- Demonstrated strength in leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving
Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations of behavioral health programs, including program development, staffing, and compliance
- Supervise and support clinical and administrative teams, fostering a collaborative and accountable culture
- Create, refine, and implement policies and procedures that align with regulatory and accreditation standards
- Partner with medical directors, primary care providers, and community organizations to coordinate integrated care
- Track program performance, quality outcomes, and financial objectives, and implement improvements as needed
- Promote staff growth through training, mentorship, and performance evaluations
- Contribute to strategic planning efforts to expand and strengthen behavioral health services
