About The Position

SUMMARY: Oversee and directs all elements associated with the operating and staffing of the waterparks. This includes, but is not limited to; lifeguards, slide attendants, leads, supervisors, and manager in all pool areas. This also includes inventorying, ordering, and invoicing all items needed for operating the waterparks, or overseeing these task. In addition making the labor budget, staffing according to occupancy needs, tracking labor expenses, and explaining any variances. Requires a constant hands-on approach, with in-person presence, to ensure guests safety, park cleanliness, and guest satisfaction. Finally, communicate with the executive team any concerns or needs within the waterparks and accept feedback from the executive team and find solutions to their concerns. Requirements

  • Fifth Year College or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of guests, managers, executives and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • TN Driver’s License or ability to obtain one in 30 days
  • Ellis & Associates Instructors License
  • CPO or AFO Certification
  • Willingness to perform any required task within associate’s capabilities in order to effectively meet the needs of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee guest safety while in waterparks.
  • Oversee recruiting and training of new and seasonal employees.
  • Ensure all lifeguards have proper license and training for the positions they work.
  • Audit lifeguards and leadership team to ensure training is bring followed.
  • Oversee monthly in-service training and tracking.
  • Work with the Maintenance Team to ensure the parks and attractions are maintained in a way that prevents injuries.
  • Work with the Risk Team to report incidences, observe trends, and make adjustments to operations when necessary.
  • Oversee the maintaining of the cleanliness of waterpark.
  • Work with the laundry department to ensure pool towel are available to the guest and taken back to laundry after use in a timely fashion.
  • Oversee Park Service Team to ensure park is pressure washed, disinfected, and algae free.
  • Inspect parks for sanitation concerns and address issues.
  • Oversee and participate in contributing to guest satisfaction.
  • Direct and coordinate employee incentive programs through various activities designed to promote and maintain a high level of employee morale.
  • Oversee the evaluation of Aquatics team members and ensure performance reviews are done in a timely manner.
  • Oversee scheduling of Aquatics Staff, and ensure they are posted in a timely fashion
  • Oversee Revenue Generating Opportunities, i.e. Lockers, Flow Lessons, Private Parties, etc.
  • Requires regular and predictable attendance.
  • Requires the ability to travel up to 1 week, twice a year.
  • All other duties as assigned by the executive team.
  • Manages subordinate managers and supervisors who supervise an average of 140-190 employees in the Aquatics department.
  • Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
