It’s 8:30am. You’ve got coffee in hand, Slack humming, and a calendar that’s full, but in a good way, just the way you like it. You start the morning checking in on a couple key client accounts. One is a global brand with a bold experiential concept and a brick and mortar expansion in the U.S. to match. Another is a longtime partner pushing the boundaries of what’s possible and they love working with Axiom, because it is what we do, the impossible. You’re not just answering emails, you’re anticipating needs, spotting sales opportunities, identifying stumbling blocks, making connections, and guiding conversations toward smart, strategic solutions. You’re making it look easy and ensuring not only you, but your team make things run seamlessly in the background. By mid-morning, you’re mentoring an Account Manager through a tricky negotiation. You’ve been here before. You know how to protect margins and relationships. It’s a symbiotic balance, they need us, we need them. Together, you land on a solution that works for all; the client, Axiom team, and Axiom’s bottom line. Later, you’re in a strategy meeting with Sales. You help translate big ideas into executable plans: scope, budget, timeline, and next steps. You make sure everyone leaves aligned; clarity is the critical ingredient. After lunch, you’re reviewing forecasts and identifying growth opportunities within existing accounts. You see a chance to sell in production with a typically design-only client, flag a potential risk early, and prep a monthly client overview for the meeting you’ve proposed to the Owner and Executive Director. You’re thinking three steps ahead, always. The afternoon brings a client meeting. You bring along your junior Account Manager to have them shadow you. You set the agenda, guide the conversation, lead with confidence, and follow up with a clear debrief. Your demonstrate how to teach clients to not only trust you to deliver, but that you listen. Before the day wraps, you check in with your team. You’re coaching one AM on their path to a promotion, setting financial milestones with another, and celebrating a recent win. You’re building more than accounts, you’re building people. Some days you’re in the open office. Some days you’re in the shop, surrounded by fabrication, tools, and trades. Some days you’re traveling to meet clients across the country. Every day, you have an impact. That’s life as Director of Accounts at Axiom.
