About The Position

Responsibilities Supervise all accounting department activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations. Manage and coach a small team of accounting staff to ensure timely and accurate work. Oversee the integrity of daily and monthly accounting processes and reporting cycles. Maintain proper trust accounting procedures in compliance with state bar and legal ethics rules. Develop, document, and continuously improve internal accounting processes and controls. Coordinate with external tax professionals, auditors, and vendors as needed. Review and approve monthly reconciliations, journal entries, and internal reports. Serve as the primary point of contact for financial operations within the firm.

Requirements

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Experience working in a legal, professional services, or other trust-account-compliant environment preferred but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of day-to-day accounting operations, and process management.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online).
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and accountability in deadline-driven environments.

Nice To Haves
