About The Position

Leading the implementation, governance, and optimization of accounting and operational software systems. Overseeing and directly assisting with system implementations, enhancements, upgrades, and material system changes. Ensuring all technology initiatives are aligned with GAAP, internal control requirements, and operational best practices. Serving as the accounting subject-matter expert for system architecture, integrations, data flows, and financial system design. Designing, creating, and maintaining system-level controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and reliability of financial data. Architecting project initiatives to ensure data is properly captured, transferred, transformed, and reported across platforms. Establishing and enforcing consistent KPIs, metrics, and financial data definitions across the organization. Leading finance and accounting quality assurance testing for new system implementations and significant system changes. Validating system outputs against accounting requirements, control standards, and expected financial results. Documenting testing protocols, results, approvals, and post-implementation reviews. Mapping, redesigning, and optimizing financial and operational processes to improve scalability, efficiency, and control. Performing cost-benefit analyses for new software initiatives and feature enhancements and providing recommendations. Identifying and implementing opportunities to automate manual, repetitive, or error-prone processes. Training Accounting, Finance, and cross-functional teams on new systems, tools, and developed features. Creating and maintaining technical documentation, SOPs, and system reference materials. Supporting system adoption and ensuring full utilization of implemented solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in the finance industry or financial consulting.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience leading or materially contributing to accounting system or ERP implementations.
  • Master’s degree in accounting or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP, general ledger structures, and reconciliation processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience architecting or supporting financial transaction processes and system workflows.
  • Strong technical writing skills with the ability to document complex systems and processes.
  • Experience with process flow mapping and related tools.
  • Experience leading or coordinating cross-functional teams during system implementations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Active CPA license.
  • Experience in the leasing or asset-based finance industry.
  • Experience implementing or supporting Salesforce, Odessa, Sigma, Vertex, PTMS, or QuickBooks Online (QBO).
  • Experience with sales tax and property tax software implementations.
  • Ability to write or interpret SQL queries.
