The Director of Accounting Shared Services is responsible for leading all of the accounting functions contained within the shared services, including general ledger function, treasury activities, accounts payable, and SOX compliance. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Lead Global Shared Services Operations: Oversee end-to-end global accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Treasury, and related functions, managing a team of ~20 professionals across multiple geographies. Ensure Timely & Accurate Financial Close: Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, delivering high-quality, timely financial reporting and maintaining confidence in financial data integrity. Governance & Compliance: Establish, monitor, and continuously improve key internal controls across all shared services processes to ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements. Talent Leadership: Attract, develop, and retain top talent, fostering a high-performance culture and building a best-in-class global shared services team. Drive Strategic Vision: Partner with the Corporate Controller to design and execute the global shared services strategy for billing, payments, cash management, and accounting operations, ensuring scalability and efficiency. Stakeholder Engagement: Ensure clear, proactive communication with global business partners and stakeholders, operating effectively within a complex matrix organization. Cross-Functional Leadership: Develop team capabilities and promote best practices across functions, driving collaboration and alignment with broader finance and business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required, with 14 years experience OR Master's/Doctoral degree in field with 12+ years experience, CPA preferred.
  • Related experience includes 4+ years managing people
  • Deep understanding of GAAP and global accounting principles; strong knowledge of shared services operations and compliance requirements.
  • Skilled in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Access, PowerPoint); ability to leverage technology for process automation and efficiency.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to influence and engage stakeholders across all levels and geographies.
  • Highly proactive and solutions-focused; demonstrates agility in resolving issues and delivering measurable results.
  • Passion for process optimization, performance measurement, and innovation to enhance service delivery.
  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Typical work-related travel assignments range up to 2-4 days, and as such overnight, out-of-town stays are required.
