About The Position

TCI Transportation is hiring a Director of Account Development to join their brokerage team. This role involves overseeing customer accounts and developing the account management team. The Director will report directly to the EVP of Brokerage and requires strong communication skills, an energetic personality, a strong work ethic, and the ability to comprehend complex situations and foresee necessary actions for success. Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years transportation experience brokering freight required.
  • Strong work ethic and self-driven.
  • Confident decision-making skills, and ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and basic mathematics skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • Freight engineering or account management experience within the transportation industry preferred.
  • Proficiency in McLeod, Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook is preferred.
  • College degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee customer accounts and expand transportation services by providing customer service and finding ways to solve customer shipping needs.
  • Create solutions based on customer needs.
  • Manage the relationship between the customer and the company.
  • Develop and guide a team of Account Managers to maintain, grow and create efficiencies with active TCI accounts at a high level of customer service.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external customers by staying in constant communication to ensure day-to-day and long-term needs are met.
  • Demonstrates industry knowledge and ability and can apply competency in new or complex situations.
  • Collaborate on pricing activities for new and existing business.
  • Leverage organizational skills to manage multiple employees, customers, and shipments.
  • Audit and ensure accuracy in customer billed rate and carrier expense, in a timely manner.
