The Director of Nursing, ASC and CCC supervises and coordinates all clinical activities related to the ASC and CCC and provides leadership in the conception, planning, development, and implementation of ASC/CCC business plans to the COO, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and Board of Directors.

Requirements

  • BSN degree preferred
  • Associates Degree from an accredited Registered Nursing (RN) program.
  • Five years’ clinical experience required.
  • Two years’ experience in surgical setting (ASC or Hospital) management role required.
  • Experience in comparable or larger facilities across multiple locations comprised of both ASC and CCC departments.
  • Valid Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license. Must provide proof of license and be in good standing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Position requires acceptable motor vehicle driving history, valid and free from restrictions, and must and appropriate vehicle insurance coverage.
  • Ability to travel between all OCR locations.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience with accreditation requirements of Joint Commission, Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and/or similar accrediting bodies a plus.
  • Association of perioperative Registered Nurse (AORN) Certification, preferred.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and coordinates all clinical activities related to the ASC and CCC
  • Provides leadership in the conception, planning, development, and implementation of ASC/CCC business plans to the COO, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and Board of Directors
  • Directly supervises one or more employees.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Addresses disagreements with staff to ensure a positive work environment.
  • Works closely with HR Director on personnel issues.
  • Reports critical personnel issues (e.g., disciplinary actions and/or termination) to supervisor.
  • Provides employee management/leadership including managing training, scheduling, recruiting and hiring, performance evaluations, and maintaining a positive work environment acting as an executive-level leader.
  • Oversees and coordinates quality infection control and patient safety.
  • Identifies quality improvement projects continuously, assisting the Health and Safety Committee in reviewing and revising policies and practices, and provides timely and accurate reports.
  • Ensures clinic compliance with regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies, including Medicare’s Conditions for Coverage, State of Colorado Department licensing guidelines, and Joint Commissions for the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) requirements.
  • Continually monitors operations, programs, physical properties.
  • Initiates appropriate change.
  • Participates in committees and with the Board by leading and participating in quarterly Board meetings and with Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) and Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) teams, and presenting new policies and procedures for final approval.
  • Works cooperatively with the Health and Safety Committee, Infection Control Nurse, ASC/CCC Managers, QAPI Committee, MAC, Credentialing, Purchasing Manager, Risk Manager, Medical Director, and other Directors, Physicians, CFO, CEO, COO, and the Board of Directors.
  • Develops, revises, implements, and enforces policies and procedures and take charge of annual ASC and CCC licensing.
  • Works with the Credentialing department to maintain and complete credentialing files documenting staff credentialing and privileges for all credentialed providers per the ASC and CCC corporate documents.
  • Monitors cost containment by working with CFO and Purchasing Manager to negotiate contracts for highest quality goods and services, authorizing all purchasing and approving invoices/statements, maintain and monitor budgets (including surgical volumes) and preparing an annual budget.
  • Recommends, develops, and updates strategic plans to support the ASC’s philosophy and goals.
  • Works closely with COO on the timely reporting of possible risk management events, resolving patient complaints and concerns, and providing support to all risk management activities.
