About The Position

Develops the provider network through contract negotiations, relationship development, and servicing. Primary focus of this role is contracting and negotiating contract terms. Typically works with the most complex providers. Complex providers may include, but are not limited to large institutional providers, large medical groups and ancillary providers, value-based concepts understanding and support, providers in areas with strong competition or where greater provider education around managed care concepts is required.

Requirements

  • Requires a BS/BA degree in business administration or related healthcare field and a minimum of 8 years healthcare operations, finance, underwriting, actuary, network development and sales experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Missouri Market strongly preferred
  • Experience with all lines of business preferred (Medicaid, Medicare, Commercial)
  • Advanced experience managing contracts with large hospital systems worth more than 200 million dollars preferred
  • Strongly preferred CPA or MBA degree
  • Previous management and associate development experience is a must
  • Experience with strategic data analysis to influence positive business outcomes strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversees contracting and maintenance of all facilities including hospitals, surgery centers, etc
  • Attracts, develops and manages key contracting and servicing staff
  • Develops innovative ways to maintain a cost effective network with adequate access and positive working relationships with providers
  • May work on projects impacting the business unit requiring collaboration with other key areas or serve on enterprise projects around network management
  • Serves as key resource for other contracting staff and provides mentoring and on-the-job training and development
