About The Position

The Director of Sales leads growth for Hach’s West U.S. region, building and inspiring a high‑performing team that drives profitable sales and captures market share. Reporting to the VP, NA Sales, you will influence strategic decisions, develop future sales talent, and help shape Hach’s next era of innovation. For leaders who value impact and long‑term career growth, this position offers a clear, supported pathway to future VP‑level roles within Hach and across Veralto’s Operating Companies. This position covers the West territory, which spans the United States from the West Coast as far northeast as Minnesota, south through Texas, and east to include Arkansas and Alabama. Candidates must reside within the defined territory. There are several locations listed for marketing purposes but just one position is available.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree is required with preference given to a major in Chemistry, Biology or Environmental Science; an MBA is strongly preferred
  • 7 to 10 years of experience managing sales teams, and leading other people leaders, during periods of change and growth
  • 10 to 15 years of progressive sales experience within Hach, the water industry, or other technical field to include holding field individual contributor and field sales leadership roles within the municipal and industrial markets.
  • Background in value‑selling methodologies (Question Based Selling, Sandler, etc.) strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success to motivating teams to deliver high-impact results through customer‑centered, collaborative selling
  • Track record of building scalable processes and winning sales strategies through continuous improvement and Veralto Enterprise System methods
  • Willingness to travel 60% to stay close to customers and team performance

  • Own the regional budget, track results, and drive fast, data‑driven course corrections.
  • Lead key business reviews, product tollgates, and strategic initiatives.
  • Stay ahead of market and technology trends and help shape future product opportunities.
  • Partner with marketing to convert leads and fuel targeted commercial campaigns.
  • Oversee forecasting and reporting to maintain clear visibility of performance and pipeline health.
  • Set high accountability standards and use performance tools to elevate talent.
